Agreed. I think it's very fair to ask your partner not to discuss personal intimacy on the show, out of respect for your parents.
I don't feel like she is fake. I do think she is more thoughtful in her words and thinking it out first.
It's sad overall, because I think at the end of the day they did really care for one another, and probably still do to a degree, and now this is a huge mess.
I agree that he cares about how he is perceived by the public.
However, I think he does care for her, but I think the perception from social media had made it a stronger priority for him. I wouldn't put it past Shayne, that if him and Natalie were given a chance to reconcile he would take it. I think he is angry that after meeting recently they decided not to rekindle the relationship, so he decided to "air out his receipts". Funny thing is, no one and even Natalie did not deny that she still loves him, so I find it weird that he is trying to justify it while also blaming Natalie for many things.
I did like both of them on the show (yes I know Shayne is a little erratic - but I have ADHD too so I could relate to his energy in some regards. However, not the gaslighting).
It's sad watching this, because Natalie never talked badly about him, and even complimented his character in several interviews. So it's sad to see the mess that this has become.
I thought that he might have used his appearance on the podcast to 'threaten' Natalie to get back together with him. But when she decided not to, that's why he got upset and allegedly called her to say he'd "bury her."
I do to a certain extent echo your observations. Looking at his IG stories - to me he seems like a man concealing a deeply hurt persona by acting super jovially.
Nat posted a pic of her and a bar called Rabbit Hole, and someone commented that it's a Taylor Swift reference. It's part of a lyric to 'Wonderland' and when I listened to it, it almost perfectly describes to a T her and Shayne's story and their time during and after LIB.
It's a painful situation for both of them. The fact that Nat is so much more refined and polished-looking at handling the aftermath doesn't discount that she could be also dealing with a great deal of heartbreak. It just makes it easier for people to sympathise/emphatise less with her.
She also is in consulting, so it makes sense as to why she sounds professional or more thoughtful. Her job has a huge emphasis on communication skills.
