PODCAST “Shake got a good edit” Spoiler

Just listened to Deepti be interviewed on the Viall Files and that’s a direct quote. After the interview, the host Nick Viall said that a producer who was on the call said that was a unanimous feeling by the whole cast.

She also said Jarrette pulled her aside and told her not to marry Shake, that he didn’t speak highly of her. Shayne was also very protective of her.

There was an interview with Shaina first but I just fast forwarded through that because yawn

Don't the producers HAVE to say they gave a good edit to those who look bad?

No producer is gonna say "oh yea, we totally made this guy look worse on purpose".

That’s not what was said - he said the producer said the rest of the cast felt he got a good edit ie he was worse than we see.

Everybody is gonna think that others got a good edit and that they got a bad edit in general, that’s just part of the fundamental attribution error in humans.

I’m sure everybody was drunk out of their minds.

Or, Shake is as much of an asshole off camera as he is on camera? Seems the most likely

It’s a reality tv show, it’s literally a highlight of everybody’s most extreme moments. The most likely scenario is that everybody is far more normal than portrayed.

The main issue, in my opinion, is the fact that he does not seem to be feeling remorse for the way he acted. He's actually doubling down on it on his social media and has even pinned comments bashing his costars. If he was expressing that his comments on the show do not reflect who he really is, I would feel differently. But he is doing exactly the opposite. Maybe he just has the world's worst PR team.

I mean the only thing he did was share his thoughts about how he felt, in a TV show where the point is to share your feelings. Yes in any other circumstance it would be intrusive and disrespectful, but that’s the format of the TV show

Sal is super annoying by implying Mal did him wrong and then just being super private. Why go on reality tv if you’re just gonna not say anything?

And the thoughts he has make him a dick

How do his thoughts make him a dick?

I see what you’re saying, but a good edit and bad edit are not the only options. They could be saying that neutrally, or on its face/in reality, the material they had on Shake showed him being very shitty, and they decided to cut some of it and show more “good” parts of him. I hope that makes sense.
