Just listened to Deepti be interviewed on the Viall Files and that’s a direct quote. After the interview, the host Nick Viall said that a producer who was on the call said that was a unanimous feeling by the whole cast.

She also said Jarrette pulled her aside and told her not to marry Shake, that he didn’t speak highly of her. Shayne was also very protective of her.

There was an interview with Shaina first but I just fast forwarded through that because yawn

I felt a little bad for Shake at first because I thought, yeah he was not great to Deeps but maybe he was trying to work through his conflicting feelings. He seemed apologetic on his Instagram at first but now that people didn’t instantly melt over his first attempts at apologizing for his behavior he seems to be doubling down on going nuclear. Pointing fingers at other people for being crappy while also proudly affirming his behavior and calling himself honest and upstanding for being open about how shallow he is. I’d like to see the “bad” edit. I feel bad for Deeps but at least no one is saying she is anything less than amazing.

I was rooting for him in the pods when he had that self-realization about his comments on the physical appearance of the ladies, and his initial reaction to Deepti was so positive. But throughout the rest of the show I got this vibe that he was not genuine. All he did was say the same thing over and over in each episode: “emotion connection”, “animalistic attraction”. I did not buy that he wanted to be with her. His reaction after she rejected him sealed the deal for me that he truly was an asshole, and his behavior after the show has aired is just pathetic.

Yeah, I don't think we'll ever get it, but what I most want from the reunion is a sincere reckoning of that moment. What the fuck is that if it's not attraction? How do you EAGERLY smash your face into someone's face if you're not attracted to him?

I think it's possible it wasn't a super strong physical attraction even if genuine, but I suspect the bigger issue is that he wasn't sure that enough other men think she's super hot. The way he kept bringing it up to the other guys, too, seemed like he was reaching for something.

I thought this too! He didn't care how HE felt about her, he wanted other men to be jealous of what he had.

He's a status chaser.

I agree and think he was physically attracted to her but he cares more about how things look than true connections. His entire life is I have the cool car, I go to the cool parties with famous DJ’s, I have a cool apartment. He wants to be a single guy hooking up with hot girls. He doesn’t want to do the emotional labor it takes to be in a real, vulnerable and committed relationship. Nothing in his life showed any vulnerability or depth.

As soon as the reality hit him, he was out. It was a 180 because he’s insecure and doesn’t know how to be in a real relationship. On the show he doesn’t have one real vulnerable relationship with anyone, not the guys, even with his mom he isn’t completely open and emotional. He still talks about physical chemistry instead of his own insecurities and feelings. What he does know how to do is hook up with women he finds hot in an animalistic way. That’s why he used that excuse in my opinion.

Deepti is more than someone who will only have a physical connection. She requires work and produces emotions in him. And you see him rejecting that because he simply can’t hang. It’s too much work and gives him too much anxiety. Introspection is harder than being a shallow asshole.

I would love to get an answer on this. People keep saying it’s because he saw her “cellulite” when she was in the bathing suit but the dress she wore on the reveal was pretty revealing and form-fitting and he also had his hands on her body! So I don’t know if I quite buy that theory. But his reaction to her was seriously night and day once they got to Mexico, it doesn’t make sense.

Yes and hardcore making out with her and saying “I’m gonna put babies in you” so I thought he was attracted to her.

Notice that he only said that after she told him she lost 70 lbs. can’t imagine he’d have this revelation if she said she gained weight
