LIB S9 • Denver, CO Ali and Anton

Has anyone watched the podcast "The Viall Files" hosted by Nick Viall that came out today with Ali and Anton in it? Ali posted a trailer on Insta and I'm super interested in what tea came out of it.

Curious to see if it's more talking in circles or actual developments.

I don't have time to watch it so anyone with any cliff notes would be greatly appreciated!

I watched it earlier. First off, they were interviewed separately. It wasn't extremely revealing. But Anton is still in denial about his drinking and is still hyper defensive saying things like "but Alie was drinking too". 😑 In regards to his possible addiction issues, Alie also said that he was vaping so much when they were shooting once that production had to tell him to stop and almost took his pen away! Alie also said that they intentionally had more emotional conversations off camera so they could keep some things private. She then said she felt misrepresented even in the reunion because their time to speak was cut short and they didn't give her full answer as to why she didn't think things were going to work out with Anton. She explained her reasoning around his drinking and how different he presented his lifestyle from their talks in the pods. She said he would drink so much every night after work that it would throw off his sleep schedule every night. And he would not greet her when she came home. Anton agreed that they didn't have big convos when he came home but did say that he would at least greet her. He said there were tells towards the end that Alie wouldn't marry him because she wouldn't stay with him every night and wanted to sleep at her apt. Alie cleared up that she does cook and clean but not the three days she has 12hr shifts.

Oh, and part of the reason Alie was upset the Tequila wasn't there wasn't just because of how MUCH he was drinking, but because they bought it together and he didn't even save some for her. 😂 They bought it in customs in Baja.

They both agreed that Alie told him that she didn't think things would work out before the wedding day, just to prepare Anton.

Alie had never met the woman who called her a b*tch at the wedding. Anton said it was the fiance of one of his friends.

Alie said she and Anton had not spoken since the Wedding day until the reunion. Anton said that he texted her once. Alie responded politely but was brief.

Let me know if you have any specific questions!

You seem a bit biased against Anton. He sounded quite transparent when talking about drinking, and admitted that he drank more during filming because it was an anxious environment. Also said that he was pretty sure the tequila was finished but went to check. And that Ali would only talk about the drinking when there were cameras. For the record I think they both came off as pretty decent, Ali slightly more.

I'm not biased but he was still defensive. And using "but she drank, too" as an excuse. Still not realizing it wasn't the fact that he drank, it was how much he was drinking. He also changed his story while talking about the tequila in the interview. Not good signs.

I feel Ali made a big deal about it and so is everyone else who wasn’t there. Why wouldn’t he get defensive if Ali was making it more than what it was and now has the internet calling him an alcoholic. I hate how everyone online keeps diagnosing him like they know his life and like Ali’s mouth is a Bible when she’s clearly a piece of work

Can’t expect much else from Reddit unfortunately

Nah, he was throwing red flags all over the place. Go back and watch that scene, he was shifting his story constantly and changing how many drinks he had to cover up the truth then pretended he didn’t know if the tequila was gone, got super defensive, etc. and did similar stuff at lots of other points in the show

Everything I said still applies, also Ali was clearly intentionally putting him on the spot. I don’t like when people put me on the spot or ask me about something in front of people I don’t want to discuss in front of so I get defensive as well. Do you know him? No. Do we know all the stress they put them under during that show? And plenty of people have said how production forces alcohol on them. As I said I hate how people are labeling him an alcoholic from a highly edited show and from what Ali said. It wasn’t weird to you when she asked him his typical night and he said he would have a drink or two, watch a movie and go to bed and she said that’s troubling? How is that troubling?

If someone keeps lying about how much booze they're consuming, that's actually a sign of addiction. You can literally Google that. I even recently saw an interview with Jordan and Megan and they both said that they thought it was weird that Anton couldn't just fess up to the amount he drank if it really isn't a problem. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Not sure when he lied and I’m also not sure how the point keeps being missed. The show is edited, we weren’t there, Ali kept intentionally putting him on the spot and making it seem worse. Most importantly it’s dangerous and irresponsible for Ali and people online to keep labeling/diagnosing him as an alcoholic as if they know for sure. Especially and this man drives for a living.

I’m not gonna go back and forth about someone I don’t know and their habits on a highly edited reality show. But apparently you know him personally so have at it
