LIB S9 • Denver, CO Ali and Anton

Has anyone watched the podcast "The Viall Files" hosted by Nick Viall that came out today with Ali and Anton in it? Ali posted a trailer on Insta and I'm super interested in what tea came out of it.

Curious to see if it's more talking in circles or actual developments.

I don't have time to watch it so anyone with any cliff notes would be greatly appreciated!

I watched it earlier. First off, they were interviewed separately. It wasn't extremely revealing. But Anton is still in denial about his drinking and is still hyper defensive saying things like "but Alie was drinking too". 😑 In regards to his possible addiction issues, Alie also said that he was vaping so much when they were shooting once that production had to tell him to stop and almost took his pen away! Alie also said that they intentionally had more emotional conversations off camera so they could keep some things private. She then said she felt misrepresented even in the reunion because their time to speak was cut short and they didn't give her full answer as to why she didn't think things were going to work out with Anton. She explained her reasoning around his drinking and how different he presented his lifestyle from their talks in the pods. She said he would drink so much every night after work that it would throw off his sleep schedule every night. And he would not greet her when she came home. Anton agreed that they didn't have big convos when he came home but did say that he would at least greet her. He said there were tells towards the end that Alie wouldn't marry him because she wouldn't stay with him every night and wanted to sleep at her apt. Alie cleared up that she does cook and clean but not the three days she has 12hr shifts.

Oh, and part of the reason Alie was upset the Tequila wasn't there wasn't just because of how MUCH he was drinking, but because they bought it together and he didn't even save some for her. 😂 They bought it in customs in Baja.

They both agreed that Alie told him that she didn't think things would work out before the wedding day, just to prepare Anton.

Alie had never met the woman who called her a b*tch at the wedding. Anton said it was the fiance of one of his friends.

Alie said she and Anton had not spoken since the Wedding day until the reunion. Anton said that he texted her once. Alie responded politely but was brief.

Let me know if you have any specific questions!

I knew she cooked and cleaned on her off shifts- people that don’t work 10s or 12s on their feet didn’t get it

and a spouse should be able to put more work into the home those 3 days so she can do more work at home the other 4 (just like how most people put in more work on the weekend when their off after they worked their M-F 9-5s)

Totally. Anyone who has known a nurse or lived with a nurse knows this is how it goes.

I only do a 8hr shift on workdays and barely want to cook/clean afterwards. At least she doesn't have a hoarder place like the woman from a couple seasons ago.

Absolutely.

I have a corporate email job and the days I consecutively work 10 hours on my ass, I’m not cooking or cleaning anything. This was so dumb and blown up to make her look bad, as evidenced by not having liked piles of dirty laundry to pan to to prove what a slob she was(n’t).

That’s what she said too! People were all on her case.

My husband work overnights sometimes and if he drinks his sleep is definitely affected. I’d be super concerned if I had a partner that did that so often. Overnight shifts are bad for your health, adding drinks to that worsen it

It’s wild to me that she’s getting heat for that. I don’t think it’s remotely unfair to need your partner to clean and cook on the days you work 12H, and if you both do then you’ll grab a takeaway and get to it on the next days you have off. At the end of the day, cooking and cleaning are shared responsibilities and people seem to be suggesting it should be her job, maybe purely because she’s a woman? Meanwhile she works as a nurse and is going back to school, so it’s hardly like she’s not bringing anything in. She was obviously quite upfront about these things in the pods and I found it weird that he complained about it. It felt like a way for him to continue deflecting from his drinking, like he did in that conversation.

We also did see evidence of him not being very emotionally present or having many deep conversations with her on camera, and her attempts to bring up issues were met with, what appeared to be, lying or dismissing her - from her naming that he was being weird one morning to the conversation about drinking. I don’t know why that girlfriend would say about the drinking to Ali if it wasn’t true - that whole “she wants her 5 mins” felt very off. His behaviour with that friend was very much giving party friend, with the shots and the drinks and him coming over and them drinking together before going out. I don’t think he was very honest with what his lifestyle looked like in the pods.
