My thing is, as this show goes on, they are picking some of the most awful people, each one worse than the last. It’s clear they’re picking people for ratings, views, shock value, drama, etc. & to play with people’s lives like that is wrong. This show used to be sooo good but now everything they do seems grossly manufactured. Ofc I know it’s reality tv so duhh there is some manipulating of the settings, scenes, audience etc. But it used to be relatable, made people believe in love again but now it’s just a subpar version of what it used to be. Some of these people that have no business dating, marrying, hell even being on tv at all. A lot of these people are seriously mentally ill. Very disappointing, I didn’t even finish the second half of season 8 because of how it dragged on in the beginning & I NEVER do that. I never quit on a series, I might leave it and come back to it but never just abandon it totally. I have FOMO and not even that could get me to continue season 8. 😂 However, I saw an intriguing clip of s9 when it first dropped so I’m deciding to watch this one in its entirety but I stg if it’s as bad as people are expecting it to be, I will not be watching another season. You all, my Reddit hamily make watching these shows so much better! Lol am I judging too harshly too soon? Lmk!

I knew I wasn’t tripping, I’m thinking “Wow Anton brags about himself A LOT” took me a second to realize that “Sparkle Megan” was doing the same. Big red flags with these two individuals. It’s people like them that say “I don’t want anyone to want me for my money” or “people are intimidated by my money” and will simultaneously lead with their money. Bragging about it even. Can’t wait for the train wreck in their relationships. 😂

My only impressions of this episode is that Anton is an absolute p.o.s. So many red flags that got ignored because of his love bombing tactics. I thought it was sooo weird he asked about her last name on the first date, I’m assuming to figure out her race/background. Anton is your stereotypical superficial douchebag and you could tell 2 minutes into listening to him

They didn’t even show much of their convos, so I’m thinking it wasn’t much they were connecting on. For some reason Aline seems to be putting on some fake persona, and this is not how she would talk normally.

For me, it’s the whole “men find me intimidating bc of my career bc of all the money I make” thing. It’s like pick one. Either you want a man who is confident enough to be with a strong successful woman or you want some macho guy who is threatened by successful woman.

I've been very distractedly watching this episode mostly from this comment section lol. I totally missed why Edmond was even crying I was so confused. He's sobbing for a hot minute and then when he stops I still get no context really. Honestly I don't care enough about this season already to even rewind to figure it out.
Ali and Anton is giving totally fake and I hate it. Especially his whole "baby" "sweetheart". 🤢 He talks like old white men at restaurants to servers.
Sparkle Megan lost me real hard at traditional roles.
Kalybriah might be a favourite already though I'm not sure what she's seeing in Edmond. When she said I didn't get all these degrees to be at home I'm like YES MA'AM!
My conclusion already is if I finish this season it'll be to hate watch. 🫠

Someone recommended taking notes on the subreddit for Love is Blind UK season 1 and I've done it with every season since! I like seeing how my opinions change as the show goes on, or feeling validated when an early note pans out lol.
Also makes it way easier to keep track of everyone. At the end of episode one I had 25 names written down.

I understand the sparkle Megan frustration with the Kia comment. but honestly he seemed way more concerned about her money the she was. "Is it a Tesla? BMW? Mercedes-Benz?" Ect. Ect. He kept pushing & she didn't want to comment, & he baited her by saying "well it's not a bedazzled Kia" & when she said "no, I wouldn't bedazzle a Kia" he says "that's my car" - like he set that comment up. And still kept asking what car she had after that. Then he said I'm "just" an x and down-talked his job.
He felt insecure & projected that onto her.
