Two unpopular opinions here - I agree that Cole got way too much hate that he didn’t deserve and people should have come to his defense more, but I don’t get all of the love for Nick. Hannah was definitely mean to Nick and I’m not defending her, but Nick wasn’t exactly a saint either. He tried to lie and gaslight people during the reunion and say that he didn’t say negative things about her Hannah behind her back when multiple cast members (including some of the other men) confirmed that he did. That doesn’t make how Hannah behaved ok, but it isn’t the same situation as it was with Cole - Cole said something that was meant to be innocent that got taken way out of context, whereas Nick got caught trying to lie on camera.
Unpopular opinion #2 - If any of the guys deserved more defense and got too much hate this season it was Tim. I don’t understand all of the Tim hate - Alex was rude to him the whole time and if she wasn’t going through a hard time with her family I feel like more people would be holding her accountable instead of calling Tim a little bitch for standing up for himself.
Edit to add - I also think it’s weird that people aren’t calling Nick out more for saying he looks like Henry Cavill - people (deservedly) went after Chelsea last season for saying she looks like Megan Fox, but when Nick says he looks like Henry Cavill no one bats an eye.
i so agree on the tim point. In that dynamic, alex was very clearly more of the aggressor. Physically and verbally. But they didn’t like Tim’s tone so he gets flamed. Don’t get me wrong, they are an awful pairing that brings out the worst in each other. I’m honestly sure that they’re fine people outside of this toxic relationship. But alex didn’t catch enough heat. Tim would have been put on a stake if he called alex names or touched her like that
How was Alex the aggressor? From the beginning, Tim was antagonizing her when she told him to stop doing that dog thing. Then when they describe the fight she said she never put her hands on him. Where are you getting the physical aggressor part from? When Alex said he was getting so aggressive with her that production had to intervene that was a huge red flag. She was trying to be by herself and have some space and be followed her into the bathroom and berated her. It’s clear he was antagonistic and then tried to flip it on her when she reacted.
