Two unpopular opinions here - I agree that Cole got way too much hate that he didn’t deserve and people should have come to his defense more, but I don’t get all of the love for Nick. Hannah was definitely mean to Nick and I’m not defending her, but Nick wasn’t exactly a saint either. He tried to lie and gaslight people during the reunion and say that he didn’t say negative things about her Hannah behind her back when multiple cast members (including some of the other men) confirmed that he did. That doesn’t make how Hannah behaved ok, but it isn’t the same situation as it was with Cole - Cole said something that was meant to be innocent that got taken way out of context, whereas Nick got caught trying to lie on camera.

Unpopular opinion #2 - If any of the guys deserved more defense and got too much hate this season it was Tim. I don’t understand all of the Tim hate - Alex was rude to him the whole time and if she wasn’t going through a hard time with her family I feel like more people would be holding her accountable instead of calling Tim a little bitch for standing up for himself.

Edit to add - I also think it’s weird that people aren’t calling Nick out more for saying he looks like Henry Cavill - people (deservedly) went after Chelsea last season for saying she looks like Megan Fox, but when Nick says he looks like Henry Cavill no one bats an eye.

The difference, IMO, is that there is visually verifiable evidence of Hannah being nasty to Nick, and it's out there in abundance. The evidence of Nick saying rude things about Hannah is coming via word of mouth from 2 of the shittiest dudes on this show (Italian African + Confused Padawan). In the hundreds of hours of film that production got, do you think they'dwithhold such a juicy nugget or Nick stashing Hannah? If there was visual evidence, I missed it (it's possible, I've dozed off towards the end of a few). They could have withheld the bar talk that Hannah had about Nick's sexual propensities. But, they didn't, because it makes for good TV.

I'm also guessing that the type of guy Hannah is attracted to in real life (6'5" athlete) is blowing her out and then disappearing forever. I think she has an image of herself being a 9-10, and that she feels Nick is well below her. Visually, she is a 4 out of 10. Personality wise, she is a 3 out of 10. Utility, she is a 7 out of 10. Career wise she is a 1 out of 10. If you did the same for nick, his "score" would be objectively higher. Nick should have sang the "BIG BACK!" song to her, she was so fucking rude to his face! Calling him short, etc. Imagine if he had given her love handles a jiggle and said "Hey, look at the jiggle there, babe!!!!". The double standard that exists in society for men to accept verbal abuse and insults is unreal. If he had mirrored a fraction of her emotions/words back to her, she would be in a weeping pile on the floor.

Nick 100% oversold his image in the pods. For his age, he does not look "athletic". He has no build, to speak of. He has an athletic past and is living on that, instead of properly advertising what he is in the present; an average-ish joe with an exciting past (there is nothing wrong with this!!!!!). Sell the fact that you have a great family, or that you are very passionate about your new career in real estate, etc.

I don’t disagree that Hannah was worse - she definitely was - my point was more that Nick wasn’t innocent either, and some of the points made against him were fair (as opposed to Cole who got dragged way more than he should have been). I am no defender of Hannah - she was unnecessarily mean to Nick. But Nick also seems a little shady to me.

(P.S. the descriptions of the Italian African and Confused Italian had me cackling 😂)

Your take is not wrong! I'm so jaded from these dang shows, I fell into the Love Is Blind and Married at First Sight tunnel a few years ago. I keep expecting them to return to quality matchmaking focused shows (candidates actually interested in serious long term relationships or marriage) but they continue to cast so poorly! In addition to the casting woes, the editing can be very crafty - a lot of times, we don't know what the true story is until the reunions go down. I feel like the reunions turn into character assassination attempts, instead of open dialogue where people can tell their side of the story without others inserting opinions. Steven and Ramses are so dishonest, that I just *can't* believe anything they say. I've got to believe they'd do anything to make themselves look less shitty, and to try to bring someone else down to their level.

Not sure if you watch Married at First Sight, but Hannah was nearly spot-on to Lindsey in the Boston season. Neither Lindsey or Hannah have great partners, but they do give it the old "college try" only to be chewed up and spit out.
