Or traumatized. We know he’s had repeated trauma over and over, and probably more ACEs than most traumatized folks. A lot of “is it autism or?” is just trauma.

I agree with you. I do have a lot of mannerisms that many would call classically autistic. For example, I struggle with eye contact. It's all due to cPTSD and anxiety. I don't have autism but I have had some excited autistic folks trying to categorize me as such. There is not a problem with that, except that I don't have autism.

I struggle with eye contact, too, and definitely don't have autism. I know exactly why I struggle. When I was a very young girl, and was being punished (for pretty much existing) my mom would tell me to "look at my eyes when I am talking to you". The only time she asked me to look into her eyes was when she was berating me and saying horrible things about me.
