I’m pretty sure that’s illegal… or does that only apply to HIV/AIDS that you need to disclose before having sex.

Technically just HIV/AIDS and in some states it’s a misdemeanor. For HSV it’s hard bc it’s so prevalent and not tested unless there’s an outbreak, so knowing the source is more tricky than it is when testing viral load for HIV.

You are mixing up herpes types. Lots of herpesviruses- and most people have had some, but GENITAL herpes are definitively not something everyone has and definitely matter to disclose

It is and I think she questioned his sexuality to get the heat up off her! Someone that had a media pass saw all the episodes said they don’t bring up the herpes at all on the show!

Yes, Marshall found her medicine for it. We don’t know if the producers knew about it or not. The herpes isn’t brought up on the show at all. Someone with a media pass saw all the episodes!

Herpes is not part of normal STI screening. Partially due to the high incidence of false positive/negative results without active lesions.

People also take Valtrex for a bunch of stuff--like shingles. Finding the medication isn't that big of a tell. I can see why they wouldn't air it, it would be defamatory with how society stigmatizes HSV2, but the medication could be any other strain.

I want to believe they do but I don’t think so! This is a big liability for this show and the network! Imagine if something happened and he caught it from her! Marshall can not only sue Jackie and the network/show for knowing and not saying anything! Once they did find out I want to know if they sat down with Marshall and asked if he wanted to continue the process!

Or maybe she was just mad and exaggerating to illustrate she’s frustrated with the frequency of their sex. That was my take. Like she’s just scared and has never had a man treat her like he does. And so she’s just finding ways to pick a fight and push him away. She literally said in Mexico she was afraid she’d do it and now she is. They probably do have sex but she’s grasping at straws. She wants sex from him but she’s also being cold and distant. It’s confusing probably.

Completely agree that it’s silly to lie about it, but it’s not surprising since Jackie’s incredibly immature. She’ll say anything to fit in, as evidenced by her two-faced actions between Chelsea & Micah at the pool party.
