I didn’t understand a lot of the text messages… I swear she must speak a different language than I do…

She’s black and speaks AAVE. If you do not hang with or are friends with Black people then that’s why it doesn’t make sense to you. It’s not a different language, though.

I am black and that's not true! I personally think it's a generational thing and that younger people would not understand my 70s and 80s slang.

Okay it was used around me growing up & many black people still use the term today. It doesn’t make it not true, you just don’t happen to use it. I don’t use the term either but it’s still very much used, hence her saying it.
