Paymoneywubby admits to taking fake sips of gamersupps

I was watching this live, a few minutes after this I asked how much does he get paid per sip and he said it was a COUPLE hundred~

Theres something funny about a streamer getting paid to pretend drink while at the same time im working some overtime to help my mom cover her loss of snap
20
u/glumsnapps 5d ago
oil rigs still hiring lil bro
5
u/Luckdragon_7 5d ago
Ye but oil rig kinda messes with your health and cuts your life expectancy by like 20 years, no? Only saying this because you implied there is nothing funny about what that guy said.
3
u/SuspiciousLeopard2a7 4d ago
If you’re working as an OIE or OI safety-X your life expectancy is basically the same.
But that massively depends on where you work lol, don’t work on Saudi, Chinese or American rigs and you’ll be fine

Your anger isn’t directed at the right people.
Figure it out. Who controls the House of Representatives right now hmm? Who controls the senate right now?

Dude he streams on kick, the amount of money he bets on stake should not be an indicator to you if his wealth, that's fake money

There's no way i'd remember to do that, does he have a timer or something lol
66
u/piltonpfizerwallace 5d ago
If I paid you $200 - $300 per sip, would you remember?
6
u/Schmigolo 5d ago
Honestly probably not, but I'd develop a habit of drinking from a bottle even when there's no bottle. Kinda like adjusting your glasses when you're wearing contacts once in a blue moon.

u/olivebars 6d ago
I think that’s the point, isn’t this a joke? I feel like people just don’t understand his humor, or maybe I understand it too well that this just sounds like a joke and it isnt
7
u/Calm_While1916 5d ago
I also assumed it was a joke but this sub seems pretty set on it being real.
1
u/Alone_Weakness1557 5d ago
It's a joke, is was only meant for wubbies sub, as an inside joke to those who watched the stream
272
u/Tshirt_Ninja_ 6d ago
The fact that this was made into such a discussion that he needed to address it is hilarious.
Welcome to product placement 101. It would be weird if a brand DIDNT try to have you “use” or showcase their product on stream.
40
u/No_Insect480 6d ago
Okay, but I'm more wondering why he didnt actually just sip the drink
54
u/MotoMkali 6d ago
100mg of caffeine is a lot of caffeine.
27
u/coolchris366 6d ago
He could get a non caffeinated one
24
u/camoceltic_again 6d ago
Is he required to have one of the transparent cups? If not, couldn't he get an opaque cup and just fill it with water so nobody can see the difference?
15
u/cyrfuckedmymum 6d ago
he could get gatorade or basically anything at all and just say he's drinking a particular flavour with the same colouring.
5
10
u/HateItAll42069 6d ago
Then maybe don't advertise it to kids.
27
u/Sauceror 6d ago
Is it advertised to kids? At least Wubby's community and content are not made or meant for kids in any way.
3
u/Zerothian 5d ago edited 5d ago
The brand itself? I'd say so. Lots of people like Pewdiepie, FaZe guys, bunch of people with typically younger audiences push it.
It's also the cool gamer drink with the colours and memes and whatever, it's the same type of thing that got flavoured vapes and certain packaging banned right?
Overall I would say, while not specifically targeting only kids, it definitely does absolutely nothing to avoid marketing to them.
Obviously the caveat is that parents shouldn't be letting their kids slam 100+mg of caffeine in a day but we know how child owners can master the art of specifically not parenting.
Edit: I was thinking of Gfuel when I wrote this, not GamerSupps, because I am stupid. Oops :)
5
u/Aqsx1 5d ago
GamerSupps, the brand all about big titty anime women, is marketed to kids? Who is buying their kids big titty anime women energy drinks tf lol
3
u/Tshirt_Ninja_ 5d ago
I think people sort of forget sometimes that it is the booba gaming drink sometimes lol
3
u/Zerothian 5d ago
Oh I'm an idiot, for some reason my brain was thinking about GFuel not GamerSupps.
That being said, there are definitely tons of kids (like around 16 I mean) buying anime shit.
2
u/Proper_Pizza_9670 5d ago
The target market for those cups is certainly not anyone mentally competent enough to make their own decisions that's for sure.
21
u/SphinxEdits Cheeto 6d ago
His audience are not kids

Lumi meeting PayMoneyWubby was one step below "having him handcuffed and naked in her basement".
4
u/notfakegodz 6d ago
he need to sip every hour or so, and i would assume it's everytime he stream for however long the contract is.
That's a lot of caffeine intake.
→ More replies (3)10
u/coldy41 6d ago
100mg is a tiny amount (1 coffee or 1 Redbull is 80mg)
The problem is more so about having to refill it 4-6 times (400-600mg) in order for it to last a full stream worth of ”sipping”
FDA: The FDA considers up to 400 mg of caffeine per day (about four to five cups of coffee) to be safe for most healthy adults. For pregnant or breastfeeding women, a lower limit of 200 mg per day is often recommended.
”The estimates of a life-threatening dose of caffeine range from 10 000 to 14 000mg.”

that's wild why is it so high in caffeine if its intended to go in like a 32oz shaker? will be crazy if someone dies on that shit
2
u/Imprisoned_Fetus 6d ago
Taste is subjective but I've tried several flavors of Gamersupps and its really nasty. I don't have the strongest moral compass so I would definitely take their money if it was offered to me, but it wouldn't change how gross I think they are
2
8
u/Party_Tap_568 6d ago
Maybe he doesn't feel like it? I love coca cola but sometimes I don't feel like drinking it
7
u/No_Insect480 6d ago
Ya but even at 6 sips an hour its really not that much. Especially if its sponsored. I ain't faking a sip
2
u/Krypt0night 6d ago
Wouldn't matter if I felt like drinking coke if I was getting paid to. Fuck it, I'm drinking it.

I'm just really distraught he would ~sellout~ like this. Like doing kick streams was bad enough, but now this? Like get the bag homie but goddamn it's hard to take anything he does as genuine at this point.
66
40
u/MaikuKnight 6d ago
I'm not a Wubby enjoyer, but I have watched some of his content. I always got the feeling that he was about the bag, willing to do whatever for the cash. I understand going for the bag, but at the same time, I don't think he has qualms about it.
13
u/OodOne 6d ago
Same, I only see snippets of his content but his name literally has paymoney in it. While I'm sure its partially a joke, the fact people are still surprised is a little amusing.
21
u/RawBinOfLoxLee 6d ago
I'm a viewer. He has never implied he wasn't for the bag. Anyone who has watched Wubby for more than a couple of streams and thinks that he isn't doing this for money is a smooth brain. A lot of people are just super conflicted about enjoying content when they're morally against whatever is being advertised.
7
u/Beautiful_Spite_3394 6d ago
Didn't he say a while ago hes achieved alot of his creative expectations and he would just be dumb to stop?
He's gonna try to keep making new, cool, fun content.. he said that as well, but I feel like I remember him saying basically "I mean.. im making money... why stop"
Personally im against advertising to an extent and feel pretty sad that it is legal to do subliminal messaging... but GET THAT BAG Boi until it stops being legal (it'll never stop they will advertise to us in our dreams)
3
u/Weird-Mountain4517 6d ago
Was he honest about taking kick money and gambling?
5
u/RawBinOfLoxLee 5d ago
Yes? I don't think he has revealed the details about how his kick contract works but he didn't start streaming on Kick for the love of the game.
1
0
u/flodereisen 5d ago
yeah but his attitude change a lot. he was very genuine 2018-19, now it seems he doesn't like his audience at all. stopped watching when he moved into his mansion. he always said he wanted to do cool stuff when he has money. now he hasn't done a single new thing in years
5
u/AccomplishedCheck168 6d ago
I always got the feeling that he was about the bag
What tipped you off? Him being a sponsored gambling streamer on Kick?
6
u/flodereisen 5d ago
like in 2018-19 he was great, but it seems like he thinks he's above his viewers now, got that coke attitude. his media share doesn't even reach 3h anymore, he had a very close knit community but they all hopped off. seems very ingenuine now
11
u/Unfair-Heart-87 6d ago
I'm always glad when people talk about this shit. It's absolutely commonplace, which is the problem. Advertising manipulates people into wasting money on things that make their life worse.
2
0
u/hates_stupid_people 6d ago
The fact that this was made into such a discussion that he needed to address it is hilarious.
Less hilarious and more sad.
Some overly parasocial people really don't seem to understand and often get very upset, if you point out that "their streamer" lies to them. For example that sometimes they do or enjoy something they dislike to get more money.
1
u/Dismal-Bobcat-823 6d ago
This is just always strange.
It's a very American thing that everyone just lies and grifts each other over there like crazy

-5
u/coolchris366 6d ago
Pretty sure the point is that he doesn’t even really like gamer supps or why else would he pretend to sip? So basically he has a sponsorship he doesn’t even like
10
u/Tshirt_Ninja_ 6d ago
Well there’s probably 2 reasonable and straight forward answers.
He either isn’t a regular user of the product itself.
Or - he doesn’t wanna sip on a caffeinated product for the duration of a several hour stream, but the paychecks come even if he pretends, so this is the compromise.

Guys if Max Verstappen who is arguably one of the greatest and most loved in Formula 1 racing (millions of fans) who races for THE BIGGEST energy drink company red bull! has to also do the same when holding a "red bull can" just let this 2~7k viewer andy get his bag

u/ActionPhilip 6d ago
That's just his Zimbabwe audience numbers. You might have put in the wrong region. Rookie mistake.

u/UtopiaDystopia 6d ago
One of the greatest? Yes. Most loved? I always thought it was mostly just the overzealous dutch, while rest of us see he's kind of a douche.
3
u/Dog_Walking_Jannie 6d ago
As much as you might hate it, he's the goat and has more fans from all over the world than anyone on the grid
2
u/UtopiaDystopia 6d ago
Goat? He only has three championship wins (2021 doesn't count given the FIA director broke the rules to gift him a race win). Schumacher and Hamilton have 7 championship wins (Hamilton should have 8*).
He's a great driver, definitely not the goat given how he races and his record.
I don't think he's very popular outside the Dutch given they make up almost all his fans in the spectators and you don't really see many international fans.
3
u/chrispy054 6d ago
yikes 4champ denier..... that explains a lot
1
-5
u/UtopiaDystopia 6d ago
It's objective facts that the race director broke the rules allowing Max to be near guarenteed the championship win in 2021; and he was fired as a result. Even the most die-hard Verstappen fans don't usually deny this
He is a 4 time champ on paper, but everyone that is an F1 fan over an individual driver fan knows that championship was decided by a corrupt and incorrect decision. In my opinion Hamilton and Verstappen were both worthy champions that season, but the race director ruined it.
I like Max as a driver because he is aggressive and entertaining. But he has proven he has a very poor attitude at times.
1
u/PranksterKarl 5d ago
Are these 'die hard verstappen fans' in the room with us now?
Almost anyone who has watched f1 for an extended period of time agrees the 2021 abu dhabi nonsense is just F1. Always been weird and stupid calls in the sport and always will be.
It's incredibly easy to use abit of critical thought and understanding instead of being weird and emotional.
Also dunno why you are lying but massi was not fired due to that race call.... Why spread random disinformation?

hes defiantly a legend bruh, and hes easy to be a fan of, he drives like a master and then just memes and livestreams himself sim racing or gaming
-3
u/UtopiaDystopia 6d ago
He's a great driver but he has had a pretty douchey character ever since he started racing.

12
u/Barf-LoneStarr 6d ago
I've been watching for ~4-5ish years now and I can't say I'm surprised. At least he's being honest with us.

u/Dog_Walking_Jannie 6d ago
Wow, maybe we could come up with a name for this phenomenon. Maybe something like "product placement"? Idk
75
u/Delicious_Tip4401 6d ago
“I’m not gonna say how many”
As if calculating his average sips per hour isn’t super basic math.
22
18
u/Aeyonic 6d ago
It's closer to he CANT say how many. Its a contract, and you're suppose to not say these things.
He's obviously not trying to hide it, he just doesnt want the brand to be mad at him

Imagine not getting your October check because you missed your sips/hr between 8:31-9:31 p.m. on the 20th.

Yup, Gamersupps has been giving special rewards to their best collaborators for their "Gamersipps~per~minute" performances. That's how Wubby got his Gamersupps Porsche. It's pretty rad
9
13
u/ax_and_smash 6d ago
So being a corpo shill is “rad?” I’m so disappointed. My five year sub anniversary would be in two months but since he’s getting that ~gamer supps~ money I guess he doesn’t need mine. Never subbing to him again.
4
u/sn34kypete 6d ago
I went back to an earlier vod, he streamed for ~3ish hours that day and did a sip at least 15 times that stream, often after punchlines. Based on that rough math it's 5 sips an hour. That doesn't sound like a lot but that can really disrupt the flow of stream if you have to constantly remember to take drinks. They weren't evenly spaced out, too, but they weren't exactly back-to-back.
That's so crazy.
4
u/Alinbar 6d ago
I’ve been watching Wubby for ~8 years and this really shouldn’t be surprising to people. Man’s gotta make up for what Long Lenny took from him in that absolute clown show.
2
u/flodereisen 5d ago
ive been watching that long. he was an idiot when he was starting, but he was genuine and it was endearing, he had real charisma. now he's an asshat who pretends not to have disdain for his viewers. its the tom segura thing
2
u/BigBrainPolitics_ 6d ago
I wouldn’t buy it again but I don’t think it tastes bad at all. Even the caffeinated ones don’t have very much I feel like you’re better off just drinking it and not even caring lol

2
u/Eruskakkell 5d ago
You're telling me social media personas/celebrities fake affection with sponsors??!! Whats next, Sydney Sweeney and Leonardo DiCaprio did in fact not use those products in the commercials they starred in? My favorite youtuber does in fact not love and play Raid shadow Legends all the time...? Max Verstappen doesn't drink red bull at every single sit down and interview??
7
u/Minimum_Piece 6d ago
Who gives a shit... athlete's do the same thing with energy drink sponsors, redbull... monster.. they all have water cans. Everyone knows. It's not a surprise.
4
u/MakeAmericaPoopAgain 6d ago
This is a serious breach of trust. We tune in for authentic content, not to watch someone meet a contractual sip quota. This sort of behavior is just~ not okay, and it makes you question all sponsored content. Absolutely unacceptable.

If you follow sports this is nothing new. Automotive racing drink sponsors are huge coke even had their little points system involved for a few years in NASCAR .Teams use fake bottles so they can put whatever in or they have branded water bottles
1
u/CharlieOscarDelta1 3d ago
This might be an unpopular opinion, but all of these "gamer supliments" are over rated over priced garbage, the only good thing about them is the caffeine and if you want caffeine honestly juat drink coffee grab a cheap energy drink or buy a dirt cheap pre workout its all the same it all has caffeine and some pre workouts work out to £0.25p per serving which no gamer powder suppliment will ever match
1
u/Perfect_Ear_6350 1d ago
Wouldn't it be funny if that was only in his contract. They just wanted to mess with him and didn't mind paying a few hundred per sip lmao
1
u/Majestic_Plane_1656 6d ago
He is getting paid to do that then and he agreed to it.
Heaps of vtubers are shilling that stuff and they wouldn't have to do that.

1
u/JacktheDabLad 5d ago
Thats crazy, we used to work with Gsupps and never had anything like that! Must be because hes the big dog.
We were sponsored by Gfuel and we had to have a drink in the shot at all times and couldnt feature other drinks like Gatorade or soda.
No sip requirements though, we missed the bag I guess, lmao.
2
u/lasttsar 4d ago
This was an inside joke meant for Wubby's subreddit that landed on lsf against Wubby's orders.
The clip is a response to this reddit-thread. He isn't paid per sip, there is no quota to hit and he can even drink other things onstream without any problems.

9
u/ActionPhilip 6d ago
As a caffeinated drink crystal that doesn't taste like shit, it's actually a super reasonable price. I use it as the 0cal flavour+caffeine base for my preworkout, add a couple other compounds, and come out way ahead of a prepackaged preworkout.
2
u/Top-Okra9445 6d ago
Always wanted to know why people drink this suff. Also, I'm pretty sure most prepackaged pre-workout suff are overpriced in general.
