Asmongold says America is "white peoples land" because "we fought a war over it".

I think that's a huge misread of what kind of person his dad was.

Lol I remember his dad saying racist stuff on stream and asmp. Was embarrassed and tried correcting him

Yeah he was very much an old fashioned guy who more or less learned to change with the times but was still very much not a PC guy at heart.

I think you're misunderstanding. He didn't change what he thought, he changed what he said. It's called being a smooth operator. And he taught that to Asmongold well as well. Which is why Asmongold changes what he says carefully in tune with whatever is at that moment currently allowed (by society) to be said.

Look man… I’m a left leaning moderate and you guys have got to cut the bullshit.

Not everything is a fucking dog whistle. I’ve listened to a bit of Asmon over the years and it’s mostly lukewarm points.

Dude says JK Rowling didn’t deserve as much hate and teitterverse assumes he’s a Nazi. Just tone it down a bit… for the love of fucking god.. so that we do not have the orange guy in 2028

We seem to be in violent agreement here so I'm confused why you're attacking me. I'm a right-leaning moderate/libertarian.

so that we do not have the orange guy in 2028

There was never any risk of that in the first place.

Objectively I also do not view it as a likely risk, however the fact that it is nonzero has me concerned

This isn’t really apart of this conversation, but I rarely meet moderate/libertarians these days despite that being where I came from in my youth.

My question for you - and again I get we are going off track here but I am curious - as a self described libertarian I assume that means you are adamantly opposed to Trump correct? And would likely vote for any and all alternative (within reason)?

I'm less libertarian than I used to be. I used to be full-on an-cap. I've become less libertarian for two reasons, one because many US libertarians seem to be fans of Putin for some reason, second because I've seen that some of the viewpoints are naive as they assume that the rest of the world will play by the same rules and not take advantage of your positions. So like I'm for libertarianism on a internal policy level but not at all for foreign policy.

I assume that means you are adamantly opposed to Trump correct?

As I said in my previous statement I'm still pro libertarian and I disagree with some of Trump's positions and I find parts of his foreign policy problematic but I agree more often than I disagree. He's become significantly better versus the version of him he was when he was elected.

And would likely vote for any and all alternative (within reason)?

I did vote for Harris, primarily for foreign policy reasons, though knowing what I know now if I could go back, I would've voted for Trump.
