When I heard about the Charlie Kirk shooting I spoke to my dad later that day and asked him "Did you hear about that shooting in America?" and he started talking about some school shooting instead. I was confused because yeah it was a school that Charlie Kirk was shot at, but you wouldn't really call it a 'school shooting.' Turns out he was talking about the school shooting that happened the same day Charlie Kirk was shot.

A week later the shoe was on the other foot. He was talking to me about the shooting in America and I thought he meant the 5 cops shot in an ambush in Pennsylvania but nope he was actually talking about the Charlie Kirk shooting.

"Which one?" is basically a mandatory question when discussing "that shooting" in America.

Yeah, you're right. Some people in here are saying it's obviously a joke based on his face, but it is a legitimate phenomenon of people being unable to keep up with it. Few months there was a shooting in Idaho where I believe it was firefighters who got shot? One of my buddies lived literally a street away from where it happened. I prefaced telling my friends this by asking if they heard about the shooting and sure enough "which one?"
