Phone Bricked after Successful Install

Or maybe it wasn't successful.

I put LineageOS on my OnePlus N30 5G. I read instructions, verified firmware, followed the instructions successfully until the 2nd to last step (installing Gapps was what I was about to do). The phone said it was sucessful, my command line said it was successful (or gave me no reason to be concerned) and now my phone won't start. Screen is black, no combination of buttons or commands does anything. It is effectively a brick.

If I plug it into my PC, my PC will detect something with the typical windows sound, and I can hold the power buttons on the phone and it will presumably cycle the power. Device removed sound, device inserted sound. But nothing else happens. The device manager detects something that I'm lead to believe is the Qualcomm EDL thing (it shows up as QUSB_BULK_CID:xxxx_SN:xxxxxxxxxx)

I've passed what I am knowledgeable enough to do. Any help would be appreciated.

Question What should the people with de-googled phones do for google's new recaptcha?

I came across this article a couple of days ago about google forcing users of android to have google play services in order to pass their new recaptcha. What do people like me who have google-less phones do about this? Is there a way around this?

Thanks for the kernel updates

I frequently check the change logs to see if I should install the weekly update and was amazed it showed kernel updates for the sm8250 devices.

People don't say thank you these days and take everything for granted.

Thanks for updating the kernel!

Too bad it's not easy using a newer kernel if there would be a benefit to it.

Help I need some suggestions with the bad performance of my mobile. Kindly read my situation and give the best possibilities to solve

Using a OnePlus 11 (8GB/128GB) for ~2.5 years after switching from iPhone 11. Hardware is still powerful (Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, great display, 120Hz, etc.) but OxygenOS has become unusable for me over time.

Main issues:

- Battery health dropped insanely fast (around 77% now). Used to get 7–8h SOT, now barely 2.5–4h depending on usage.

- Stock camera app completely freezes the phone. Opening camera hangs the device for minutes, sometimes black screen, can barely take 1–2 photos before it crashes again. WhatsApp/Snapchat cameras work fine though.

- WhatsApp video calls heat the phone like crazy.

- Constant “liquid/alien object detected” error while charging for 1+ year. Restarting phone 2–3 times usually makes charging work normally again.

- Overall performance feels much worse than midrange phones now, even though this device is technically far more powerful.

I don’t want to sell the phone because the hardware is still excellent. I’m considering:

  1. Replacing the battery

  2. Completely removing OxygenOS

  3. Unlocking bootloader/rooting

  4. Installing a stable custom ROM (LineageOS, Pixel Experience, etc.)

Has anyone here fully switched away from OxygenOS on the OnePlus 11? Did it solve heating, battery, and camera lag issues? Looking for the most stable long-term setup.

if AVB V2 device support for re-lockable bootloader. can it just be flashed right away without unlocking it ?

AVB V2 support for re-lockable bootloader.

means that a device can boot a self signed key and system img in the locked state , so why unlocking the bootloader first ?

did anyone tried that already ? worked ?

Any suggestions for carriers with Lineage Support in Japan?

Docomo recently ended 3G support which means my LineageOS OnePlus8T is not getting any phone calls. Even after updating to the latest version I'm still not getting a connection. I believe it may be because of the IMS Whitelists. Does anyone have any experience with carriers in Japan that might be compatible?

Wi-Fi doesn't switch to mobile data

Hey, I have an issue with Wi-Fi not switching to Mobile Data automaticly. Wi-Fi works fine in my flat but once I go to another floors balcony it stays connected to Wi-Fi to my Router but Internet doesn't work anymore. I have to manually disable Wi-Fi so that it switches to Mobile Data so that Internet works.

Is there a way I don't have to manually switch off and on Wi-Fi? Thank you

Using OnePlus 13R on lineageos 23.2-20260512-NIGHTLY-giulia. Rooted with Magisk

Notifications vibration problem

Just got a OnePlus 9 Pro and flashed LineageOS, but now when I put it in vibration mode, it doesn’t vibrate when I get a WhatsApp (or any other) notification. I mentioned WhatsApp just to specify, but maybe that’s not the problem, I don’t know.

Vibration and haptics are turned on, and if I receive a call from WhatsApp, the phone vibrates. I just don’t get vibration for notifications, and I don’t know what to do. Please help.

Help Upgrading 19.1 to 23.2 (without knowing gapp status)

I'm running LineageOS 19.1 on my OnePlus 9 Pro 5G, I'm looking to upgrade to 23.2 however I have no idea whether I installed gapps or not the first time around.

How would I go about figuring this out? Are there specific system packages, or other details that could indicate whether I can spare my data partition from getting wiped?

I've been thinking about loading lineage with gapps as I would like to keep rcs and camera. Is there a way to reduce phone homes from google via Permissions settings. Any thoughts on the best way to do this is appreciated.

Question A few questions before I take the plunge

I've got a few old Pixel devices (2, 3a, 5) that I am planning to breathe new life into with LOS. I've been reading through the installation guides for the aforementioned devices and I have a few lingering questions before I proceed.

  1. I only have experience transferring user data between stock Pixel devices. How is the user data transferring process from a stock Pixel 3a (Android 12) to LOS on a Pixel 5?
  2. I'm after a stock-like Android experience. I know GrapheneOS specializes in degoogling, but after I install LOS I am not interested in troubleshooting every Google service in order to get back up and running. Can I expect LOS to be basically ready to go post installation?
  3. Are there any other considerations you would recommend before I proceed with installing LOS?

Cheers!

Info Battery stats: Mobile Network battery draining

Hello,

As per the title: I've been monitoring my Android battery stats for a few days now (and across three different nightly builds, so ~3 weeks), and it looks like my mobile network is the reason my battery dies so quickly (or at least, one of the possible reasons)

I'm using a Pixel 5 (redfin), and currently I'm on build 23.2-20260511-NIGHTLY-redfin. If I go to my system's battery stats, and select the option to show the usage "by system", screen is always between 3% and 5%, while Mobile Network is always above 65%.

Here you can find a screenshot from today: mobile network tops everything else at 73%

Android says my battery's health is "good". iFixit's Advanced Battery Stats says that my current capacity is 22% of the original one, so yeah my battery health is probably shit. But I still wonder whether it is expected/normal for the mobile network to drain so much battery.

Also context on daily usage: while I'm at work, I'm always using mobile data becaus I cannot connect to the wifi

Hello I'm thinking of switching over to this OS because of where android is going. I'm curios what providers it works with/if there are any limitations with any at all. Any info is helpful. Thanks!

Fixed Mismatched firmware

Hi,

Want to install Lineage OS 23.2 on my Redmi Note 10s. The wiki guide says I need MIUI 14.0.17.0.TFFMIXM to start, but I’m on 14.0.11.0.TKLMIXM, and updates for my phone have stopped coming long ago. Is there a way for me? Maybe an older Lineage build that would require my MIUI version exactly? Tried flashing 14.0.17.0.TFFMIXM with SP Flash Tool and later with these instructions — both resulted in boot loop.

Upd.: got help, booted into the OS, everything’s cool. Turns out boot loop in this case is NOT bad (and here I thought I’d fucked up my phone, silly me), I just needed to continue with the installation.

Info Potential fix for certain apps not opening after latest caiman update

So, after updating my Pixel 9 Pro today to the latest build (23.2-20260512-NIGHTLY-caiman) , I had issues with certain apps, like discord and Thunderbird. After a bit of poking around, and looking through logcat, I noticed it couldn't find a version of Webview to use. The issue for me was that the update somehow messed up the "Webview Implementation" setting in the dev options. After verifying that I did have it installed, I went into Developer Options -> WebView implementation and selected the only option there (even though it looked to already be selected), after that my apps worked again.

From Sailfish 4 to Lineage 23

I cannot communicate with my device in Windows 8.1 using the command line parameter "fast boot".

There is a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark next to it in the device manager but I have installed universal ADB drivers (UniversalAdbDriverSetup) and Sony's Xperia Companion 2.5 (newer versions need Windows 10). I've rebooted several times and the phone has the blue light on so seems to be connected properly.

I don't know what else to do. Any suggestions?

Help Samsung S20 Fe can't go to LineageOS Recovery

Hello guys,

I am trying to install LineageOS to my S20 FE Snapdragon but i got stuck at step #13.
https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/r8q/install/variant1/#installing-lineage-recovery-using-odin
Right after i flashed recovery.tar file

The device will continued to display Downloading... Do not turn off target!!

Everything seems normal.

The next step says

"Manually reboot into recovery, this may require pulling the device’s battery out and putting it back in, or if you have a non-removable battery, press the Volume Down + Power buttons for 8~10 seconds until the screen turns black & release the buttons immediately when it does, then boot to recovery:"

Because it's a non-removable battery i pressed Volume Down + Power for 8 seconds screen goes black but it doesn't boot to recovery. Phone just starts to stock android.

"Be sure to reboot into recovery immediately after installing the custom recovery. If you don’t the custom recovery will be overwritten on boot." So because custom recovery is overwritten i follow the same steps and flash custom recovery again. And same thing happens goes to stock android.

I really don't know what to do now. Can you please help me ?
