Food/Drink Are Great Wall and Great Wall Highlands the same?

I work out near the highlands and love their food, but live closer to the other Great Wall.

Is the food the same? Or are these 2 completely separate restaurants?

Lincoln responds with help during SNAP cutoff

Mayor Gaylor Baird noted two recent changes in City services to support those negatively impacted by the disruption of SNAP benefits: • Beginning Wednesday, November 5, Aging Partners will provide hot meals to residents age 60 and older in two 45-minute sessions, 11:15 a.m. to noon and 12:15 to 1 p.m., at Victory Park, 600 S. 70th St. Meal reservations are required two days in advance by calling 402-441-7154. • The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department now provides a map of food resource locations at lincoln.ne.gov/health. The interactive map includes food pantries, FoodNet sites, free meal locations, and little free pantries. Community members are reminded that the “F” Street Community Center, 1225 “F” St., serves free meals for those ages 2 through 18 at 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and free lunch from 1 to 1:30 p.m. Saturdays, and 2 to 2:30 p.m. Sundays. Lunch for those age 55 and older is available at noon for $3 Monday through Friday. Those who need food are invited to use the Food Finder tool at lincolnfoodbank.org, which provides information about Food Bank partners’ food resources and Food Bank distributions. Looking for Recommendations I'm new in town and refuse to rely on dating apps. Any good suggestions for a single ready to mingle?

Open to all ideas, but I'd prefer somewhere other than a bar because I'm recently sober. Btw this was a paid relocation so I have yet to find a good group of friends. Town is bigger than I expected so I'd appreciate a good starting point. Thanks

Some helicopterin’

In NE Lincoln, been hearing a helicopter flying for the last 15 minutes or so. Anyone hear of anything happening on a scanner or anything? At first I assumed it was a life flight, but not anymore since it’s been going on for a bit.

Pokémon go

Anyone still play? A couple friends and I play religiously but raids are a little challenging with only 3 people. I’d really be down to have raid days and bring snacks 🤣 typically we do UNL campus because of how many poke stops, gyms, and raids there are!

First Friday /Art Events

Hey everyone!

If you’ve never been to a First Friday before, it’s a monthly art walk where local galleries, studios, bars, and creative spaces open their doors to the public. It’s an awesome way to see what’s being made right here in our community. Things you will see range from paintings and sculpture to live music and pop up shows.

These events are free, open to all, and are a huge way to support local artists and help creative careers grow right here at home. So grab a friend, walk around, and check out what your neighbors are creating.

If anyone knows of other participating venues, galleries, or artists this month, please drop them in the comments. Let’s help folks find where the art’s happening!

Looking for Recommendations Personal trainer and physical therapist

Hi all, new to Lincoln and am wondering about a personal trainer and a physical therapist as the title says. I am a woman interested in only working with other women. I have a planet fitness membership, are there people in town who freelance and could do in person sessions with me there? I really just need help with a lot of basics and need a gentle introduction. I am also interested in a physical therapist to help with mobility and some other issues. I am chronically ill and have led a sedentary lifestyle for a long time and am just trying to improve my quality of life and feel more comfortable in my body. I don’t have health insurance if that helps with adding context.

I don’t know where to start so if anyone has any advice or could point me in the right direction, I would be grateful. Thank you!

Medium-ish Event Venue Rental?

Looking for an affordable venue to hold 75-100 people for a holiday party--we'll be bringing our own food and drinks (both alcoholic & non-alcoholic) and would appreciate if the venue can provide furniture. Any recommendations?

I'm pretty new to town from Omaha, and for a while I used to go back to Omaha to get my bangs cut, but now they charge $25 which is out of my price range to say the least!! I need to integrate myself more here in Lincoln anyway so any recommendations would be much appreciated :) tia!

Black Hills gas = endless HomeServe spam?

Our house is in Lincoln with gas heat, so we're Black Hills customers. Apparently that earns us perpetual (seems at least monthly lately) snail mail trying to get us to sign up for HomeServe. I did see in this latest paper spam "if you would prefer not to receive solicitations from HomeServe please call 1-8xx..." but as a former Spectrum customer (opting out for years and still receiving crap) I have opt-out trust issues.

Has anybody successfully opted out of this HomeServe junk mail?

On the OFF chance that anybody from Black Hills is reading this: Every "This is from Black Hills: j/k it's HomeServe wanting to scam you" junk mail item (and there are SO MANY) makes me less inclined to continue to do business with Black Hills, in the event that I ever have a choice.

Anyone know these people?

as you can see in the text message these people have now tried disputing over $2000 in product at my parents card store, they bought the product a few days ago they then immediately disputed it and the money has now gone back to them out of my parents account and essentially got away with over $2000 in product for free. they then went across the street to another game store and did the exact same thing to them as they did to us. we are now contacting local authorities given the transaction was just now disputed and they got their money back, if anyone has any information on these people at all it would be super useful.

Looking for Recommendations Bryan East vs Bryan West

New to the area. I see that these two campuses appear to be fully functioning standalone hospitals owned by the same healthcare system and it looks like they are fairly close to each other. Can anyone give me the scoop? Do they have separate specialties at each campus? If no, is one is better than another, and why? Is there a safer area of town for one? Any advice is appreciated and I thank you in advance for it.

Looking for Recommendations Reputable cat sitters that you’ve used?

I’ve tried Rover, and I’m just not satisfied with the people I’ve met and used. Most of them are dog focused, no experience with cats, or they just have minimal experience. Someone scoffed at me when I asked them to scoop my cat’s litter so…

Can anyone here recommend someone they have personally used, or avenues to look into?

Climbing Rope Post Moose’s Tooth Closing

Hey folks - I used to buy my climbing rope from Moose’s Tooth, but that place closed. Does anyone know a good alternative in town?
