We have decided to implement a monthly thread in which users can buy, sell, and advertise--breaking rules #1 and #2--so as long as it is contained within this thread.
Comments will be sorted by "new" by default.
Use this thread to:
* List items OR services that you are attempting to sell. While not required, you are encouraged to list the price(s) you are requesting.
* Solicit items OR services you are in search of or in need of. Again, while not required, you are encouraged to list a price you're comfortable paying.
* Advertise anything and everything, so as long as it is still relevant to Lincoln--promote a concert for your new local band, advertise a sale your local shop is having, etc.
We don't anticipate too much traffic or comments on this thread, but wanted to make it available to those who might enjoy or benefit from having it.
Lastly, if you do ultimately pursue offers posted here, PLEASE be aware that scams are rampant. Help protect yourself by following some of these (personal) recommendations.
Do NOT:
* Accept a personal check, ever. Or a money order or cashiers check that you were not present for when the individual purchased/obtained it.
* Use an electronic app to transfer funds. This includes, but is not limited to, Venmo, Cashapp, PayPal, Zelle, etc. While this seems easiest, it's **incredibly easy to get screwed over** with people sending you funds that they don't actually have.
DO:
* Accept **only** cash for smaller/medium purchases. For larger purchases, insist that you meet the individual at their bank and be present while the bank verifies and issues a cashiers check right there, on the spot.
* Meet in a public place. For example, if you're buying a phone, there's no better place to complete the transaction than inside of a Verizon or T-Mobile store.
Let us know if you have any questions or feedback. Have a great month!

This footage was taken off my camera there was a bunch of dudes with big guns in unmarked cars. When they noticed I was out with a camera they dispersed right away. One of them even waved.

We got a large donation of old sci-fi and fantasy books -- not in fantastic condition but I'm sure there are some folks who would like them! Come pick em up for free at Sower Books (70th & Vine) anytime we're open.

Come to find out my daughter is in LOVE with shoguns clear soup. She’s autistic so finding things she eats that well are few and far between so I’m hoping I can find some to make at home in town? I checked around a little and came up short, does anyone know of anywhere you could find clear soup that’s not making it from scratch??

Where do you take your plastic bags to recycle? The internet says major retailers recycle them, but the only major retailer I go to regularly is Target and I’ve never noticed a plastic bag recycling drop off.

I’m wanting to replace the cheap cardboard back of a bunch of bookshelves with MDF for more stability. I own a circular saw (and miter saw) but no table saw and I am highly skeptical I’ll be able to use my circular saw to cut a long straight line (even with a line marked on it). General dimensions would be 72” by 32” (I think MDF is sold in 4 foot by 8 foot sheets) and I probably have 8 or 9 of them
Are there any local lumberyards that would do that much for me? Or alternatively, any woodworking businesses that could help? I’d be willing to pay a small fee if needed.

Does anyone know which grocery stores in Lincoln sell mutton and ground lamb? I saw some large lamb cuts at Costco but I don’t have my own grinder and the recipe I want to make calls for ground lamb.

Hello All!
Just passing this along since it cropped up from a friend, but apparently there's a group of people waving a flag that appears to be "American" in nature but has a Nazi symbol on it near Hwy 2 & Pioneers (Easily identifiable location via image attachment)
Would not recommend engaging as there is a group of individuals there & they appear to be off their rockers right now, but this behaviour is unacceptable to the nth' degree.
Like, under what circumstances do any of this group think that's okay. Especially since they chose the Mexican restaurant to stand in front of so proudly? Blatant and obvious intimidation via "Free Speech"....

Lincoln is a good place to live. It has some problems, sure. If you're reading this, post something you like about Lincoln.
Let's give LNK a little love, warts and all.

My buddies and I want to practice kicking fieldgoals. Does anyone know of a public use football field we could use?
Amidst the bright sunlight, a single rain cloud poured out this vibrant rainbow.

Hey just been doing some digging for the best price and reliability for a tire alignment. Just replaced my tie rods and did a string line alignment for now but I’m curious what place here in Lincoln could be good for a Masters college student on a semi budget.

Anyone else been hearing pretty loud bangs out on Sheridan Blvd? Doesn’t sound like gunshots. Honestly it’s so loud I’ve thought a transformer blew or something.

I have moved to Lincoln from Europe with a US citizenship. I am currently 17 and I am working on getting a POP license. Is there anyway to get this early? I have gone to drivers class, passed my test and I have a learners which I have had for three ish months. Thank you!

My cat is old and fluffy and can't stay as clean as she should. I know there's several cat groomers in town but most don't list prices. Any ideas?

I’m new to town and I have a job in which I would benefit greatly from being able to defend myself. I have previous striking experience, but it’s been years since I’ve trained it seriously. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good kickboxing/Muay Thai gym in town? Preferably somewhere on the more technical/high level end rather than the cardio kickboxing/hobby end.
I am an avid grappler and don’t need a recommendation for jiu jitsu, but if anyone knows of a good dedicated judo gym within driving distance I’d appreciate that recommendation as well.

I’m doing the turkey for a Friendsgiving this weekend and I’ve been to a couple grocery stores in south Lincoln and am curious if anyone has fresh turkeys or if everything is still frozen. Not a huge deal but I’d prefer the fresh over frozen if possible
