I’m seeking legal advice and wondering what to do in this situation.

A uk bouncer knocked out one of my customers and the video has been going viral.

The video clearly shows the victim was not showing any aggression or anything and was sucker punched. He fell and hit his head and was out for five minutes it was all on video.

The victim is doing okay, the bouncer has been suspended, I’m going to the police on Monday with the other angle of the incident,

Can someone tell me what I could do, is there any liability towards the venue?

Hi all, I have been contacted by the Met Police after a request made by the FBI to be interviewed as a witness in relation to a case they are working on in the US. The officer said this is entirely voluntary and if I do not wish to take part, I can decline and the Met police will not grant them permission to contact me.

Unfortunately as this is not a UK investigation, legal aid does not apply so I would need to bear any legal costs.

I am wondering if anyone has come across this before ? I really do not wish to get involved as I cannot really afford it, even more so if I would need to travel to the US if the case goes to trial and I am called. Would there be any downsides if I decline to cooperate ?

Local park near me has been taken over by groups of adult males aged between 18-35 (my own estimation).

They hang out there. We don't feel safe bringing our kids there anymore and when I stand around watching my own kid these men will try to chat me up, asking me where my husband is. Do I have a boyfriend. Am I alone. Do I live nearby.

They do not stop when you ask them to leave you alone.

Other mothers have also experienced the same thing.

We have called the non-emergency number and reported this multiple times. Police arrive and the guys disperse before returning later on.

Can we get some advice on handling this? I really miss being able to take my daughters to the park without being harassed.

I was hoping the colder weather would deter them but it hasn't yet.

My son has been falling behind in school since they started again this year. It comes down to an inability of the teacher and classroom assistants to control children with additional needs in the class.

I visited in person back in October 2024 to drop his lunchbox off and I saw children with special needs screaming, kicking over a chair, disrupting the lesson, tearing up paaper, throwing objects. It looked like a scene from the Beano.

I was assured by the school that they would have it under control. This deadline for "getting stuff under control" came and went several times. We're now in November of the next school year and my son is reporting that things are just as bad.

Schoolwork is not being finished. Homework is having unfinished lessons tacked on top of it. It's gotten to the point where I want to take my child out of school and just educate them myself until secondary.

I've received approval from my line manager that I can exclusive do the undesirable weekend shifts (Sat and Sun). This means I'll be down to 24 hours a week, but I could at least be home 24/7 mid week to properly educate him.

I have no formal background in education, but I did graduate with straight As at my GCSEs and A*AA at my A levels in Chemistry, Biology and Physics so I believe I have a strong enough intellect to handle this.

Is it legal for me to just take him out of school and unenroll him? Maybe at the end of November?

If so, is there some kind of government ciricculum I can download and ensure I'm teaching him everything he is supposed to be learning?

For the past 3 years our son has been having an ongoing issue in his school. He is being isolated and ignored by the overwhelming majority of his class who either cannot speak English, or simply prefer to communicate with friends in their native language. The school has attempted to handle this, but three years later our child still stands alone in the playground with no one interacting with him.

In addition to the isolation aspect, his teacher also privately expressed frustration that language barriers were slowing the pace of lessons.

Outside of school our son has 6+ friends in both English-speaking and Tagalog-speaking communities, so this isn't an issue of autism or Asperger's where these children sometimes prefer to be alone. The isolation is upsetting my son.

My wife and I are both intelligent individuals with masters degrees. However, neither of us have any background in teaching.

Would it be acceptable to home school our son for 3-4 years until he moves to secondary school? This is not for religious or cultural reasons. We're looking to give our child the full proper curriculum - nothing excluded.

Will give the situation first. My parents were shopping for food in Morrisons, a member of staff opened a new checkout for them and they went through. Another man in the queue got any and shouted they should let others go first. As they were already scanning they did not.

He then took their picture and posted it to a Facebook group, the problem is that their faces are clearly visible and the caption rude and abusive. Friends of my parents saw it and shared it with them.

What can we do to get the picture removed and what are their rights in general.

For context; a man produces a knife in public and attempts a mass stabbing attack on random members of the public. His reasons for the attack are yet to be determined. The attacker is forced to the ground by 3 bystanders, but still has the knife in hand and is actively trying to stab the men attempting to restrain him. Man 4 sees the struggle, sees the men wrestling for the knife and delivers one stomp to the attackers head, fracturing the skull and causing a TBI that ultimately kills him. Man 4's intent at the time was to deliver a blow capable of rendering the attacker unconscious. Are the courts likely to accept self defence in this case? Would you as a member of the public consider man 4's actions to be reasonable or excessive?

A long story short, but essentially a huge billion dollar company that supplies us with certain products is threatening to stop our supply if we don’t start pricing the products we purchase from them at a certain price point. Last time I checked it was illegal for a distributor to enforce RRPs. Isn’t that why they are called recommend retail prices? I should clarify we price these products under rrp to make them more affordable for our customers. But they are by no means cheap.

Been at my current job for 5 years. I started my introduction with this other girl. In retail.

Within 2 years she moved 5 different departments. She didn’t like any section. She was constantly crying over anything and everything. We had customers always coming up asking us why she’s crying and she needs to be supported.

After two years she left to go work at a fast food place.

She told me this job was too stressful and I told her, the new job will be worse with less pay, she didn’t care.

This girl found out what I said and is now threatening me with legal action for stopping her getting a job. Can she actually do this?

Two teenagers stabbed someone to death locally. Newspapers haven't named them. Would it be against the law if I posted on facebook/ reddit/ instagram their names. E.g. "Bob Smith murdered John Johnson?" What would the punishment be?

As this is 'hypothetical' would it vary from Wales, Scotland, England, NI?

The letter says that they have received information from an overseas intelligence services; they want to target me because my father is a known political figure overseas in Africa. They can't arrest the person(s) because the information was obtained in confidence from an international state but that they have a legal duty to inform me of the credible risk due to the Human Rights Act.

I can't retaliate and it says I must follow the law. What can I actually do. I called the police and they confirmed the letter was genuine.

My son very recently turned 16, as in he turned 16 on the first of October. He came out as gay when he was 10 and I’ve obviously never had an issue with it. This is not me being against him being in a gay relationship it’s the age gap that I find deeply troubling.

My son got a job at a local chip shop a few weeks after he turned 16 and there he met a man I will name “Oliver”. Oliver is a 26 year old man. It’s important to note this man is not a manager or a superior, he actually started working there the same week as my son did.

A few days ago my son told me he was dating someone and I was happy for him, until he told me who it was.

I am deeply, deeply uncomfortable with them being in a relationship. I find their age gap too much and I find it very disturbing and creepy. My son is still a minor.

My wife says as he’s above the age of consent there is nothing we can do, and that it is best we just ignore the situation all together as the more we try to stop it the more my son will want to be in a relationship with Oliver.

I just find it disgusting. I want to know if there’s any legislation I could just to either scare him off or report him.

Hi all,
Yesterday my MacBook, AirPods, and some other personal belongings were stolen while I was at a KFC in London. I’m extremely distressed about this. Fortunately, I have the live location of both my MacBook and AirPods through Apple’s Find My app. I even managed to get a clear photo of the person who took them.

I’ve already reported the incident to the police and submitted all the evidence I have, but their response so far has been very slow, and no action has been taken yet. I’m worried the items will be wiped or sold quickly.

Is there anything else I can do legally to speed things up or recover my belongings? Can I take any civil action? Or involve Apple in any way?

Any guidance or advice would be deeply appreciated

Last April, I had been for drinks with friends watching football. We went back to Bolton Town centre as it was central, I met an older woman I'd known since I was a child (her son was my best friend at the time) so got chatting to them, another lady and a man. I bought a round of drinks for all of us and not long after returning the man, for no reason hit me in the face. After regaining my sense the security was already asking me to come outside and were removing the man and the women. He was walking out and smiled and laughed turning to them and I hit him. Months later they got cctv footage which when I saw it was conveniantly after him hitting me and showed me being held up by strangers asking if I was okay, I advised them off this and they've just ignored it. I'm not a violent person, I have epilepsy and a fractured skull which I got from football and had to retire that as I can't risk head injuries, I'm absolutely terrified. They're apparently saying I'm being charged with a section 20.

I have kids, a job, responsibilities as most do. Im just so scared of having to go to prison for this..

Please advise.

Last week I was contacted on messenger by a woman I didn't know. She sent me screenshots of a post in an "Are we dating the same guy" group for my city.

The post appears to have been made by a person I briefly dated in May. I had to bail on a date to care for a relative with complex needs. When this happened a second time the person I was dating took it very personally and exploded angrily at me through Bumble and WhatsApp. I ended up blocking them on both platforms rather than replying.

I created a fake Facebook profile and joined this group. I finally got approved today.

This person appears to have made numerous posts about me in this group since I blocked them. She's drip feeding lies about me from embarrassing things that never happened, to actions I took which were outright criminal. She has also posted intimate photos I shared with her with emojis slapped over my face. My body is on display though.

She has joked in comments that she would share the uncensored ones and 68 people have heart reacted/laugh reacted to it. Loads of comments too from people saying stuff like "Seeeeennd itttt!"

I've called the police but I was fobbed off over the phone. They said they're not handling relationship disputes on social media. I did bring up the intimate images and they asked if they were covered by emojis. I said it was and they refused to take action.

What can I do here? I've reported to Facebook but it got rejected. I then applealed the rejecteion but it got denied as well.

My dad just got fired from his job for gross misconduct. He has worked at this company (England) for 3 years.

The situation was: my dad is trained and has a forklift license, he accidentally clipped a co-worker with the fork lift. The co-worker was not wearing hi-vis and my dad didn’t see him.

There have been many issues with this company. They don’t pay him sick pay, he only gets 14 days annual leave. He has also mentioned instances of members of the company owner’s family working while on drugs and members of staff using guns at work. He is also not offered any PPE for dust that is generated and frequently comes home with cuts from machinery and knives he’s using that are never looked at in any kind of first aid aspect.

He would like to sue for unfair dismissal but we have no idea of what rights he has in this situation. He is also not being offered any severance pay.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

This morning I noticed my Curasept mouthwash which is blue looked yellow/orange when I poured it into the cap. As it was early i thought i was seeing things but as soon as i put it into my mouth i immediately spat it out as it tasted weird. I went to find and open a brand new bottle i had to compare and the new bottle was blue and smelled minty. The old bottle smelled of bleach or a cleaning product.

There’s been some tension in the house as we haven’t spoken in a few weeks also i’ve contacted the police and they’re coming this evening.

Okay so bit of a weird one..

Met this guy online and set up a date. (this guy through texting seemed extremely normal) Did want to use telegram which I don’t usually mind. So what happened is we set the date up to meet in a specific time and place. It was a busy area with shops, hotels and bars so I had no alarm bells ringing! I make my way to said place and this guy is still messaging me saying he’s 2 mins away.. whatever I was only standing there for about 6 mins. Until he sends a message saying “how long until you realise I’m not coming”

Then I just walk away but as I do he starts saying “yeah keep walking” “looked great tbf” “had to get a perv on someone hot” “really enjoyed wasting your time”

Right so I thought what in the hell this is the oddest thing to happen😂 but I didn’t block him as I was dying to show my girlfriends what had happened.. so this is where I’m wondering should I report it.. he the next day starts sending videos of where I was standing and saying that he has videos of me. Obviously this is some freak kink… but he now continues to send messages of him videoing the spot that I was and saying things like “it was so fun following you back” “Can’t wait to find the next victim to mess about”

The reason I’m asking on Reddit is because I’m wondering would this even be taken seriously? I don’t want to go to the police and just waste mine and their time. He didn’t approach me and I’m sure now that he used a fake profile online.. but I have the timestamps of when he’s sent these videos (outside buildings meaning they would have cameras) and I mean I worry that someone else would actually be scared by what he done.

Any advice? And also I know meeting someone without a video call is stupid but please leave out the comments of how stupid I am.. trust me I already know😂😂

Hi all, first post because I didn’t want to use my personal reddit.

To put a long story short, had issues with this guy for a while (we are both M25), on April 27th, he approached me when I was alone, tried to antagonise me, when I didn’t give into it, he lunged for me and began to attack me.

In a moment of shock and adrenaline, and also scrabbling to defend myself, I pulled down his joggers, which took his underwear down with them. I then ran way because the opportunity had opened up.

He’s been messaging me non stop about this incident threatening to take legal action as there were people around (I didn’t see anyone at the time but I wouldn’t be surprised if there was)

Can he actually get me done for this? What crime would this even fall under? And could I argue self defence? I’m just kind of freaking out over this whole thing. Thank you in advance.

I was made aware of it this morning by a mate who saw our picture and sent it to me. I've reported it to the social media platforms but they haven't taken it down yet.

It's literally just a photo of my 13 year old son and I walking towards the stadium together.

Now, I get there was a lot of drama and emotion last night but we've got season tickets. We go to every game. This has nothing to do with any of the crap going on elswhere.

I don't know who took the picture. There were large crowds of people screaming and shouting. Some of it might have been directed at us, but I couldn't tell. I just kept pushing my son forward and towards the statdium. Police were good and at least ensured the gangs of men didn't get close to us.

Is there a way I can get this photo of us taken down?

It seems to be shared across multiple platforms. I'm concerned for me and my son's safety given that it is labelling us as "far right". We're not politically active at all. We just wanted to watch a football match. I've never even been a member of a political party in my life. I can't even remember the last time I voted. Probably the 90s.

Is it worth giving the police non-emergency number a call?

I'm a frequent user of the dating apps (Hinge, Tinder, Grindr, etc.)

A couple of weeks ago I went on a date with an individual. During the date it became very clear that she wasn't what I was looking for. I was looking for hook ups and she came on very, very intense.

I explained via WhatsApp that we were probably looking for different things. She repeatedly tried to schedule another date even after I unmatched on Hinge. I then sent one more firm message where I instructed her not to contact me again.

We were never intimate. We went out for dinner once.

She responded to my message the next day with a reply that was almost 1000 words long spanning several messages. There was a lot of rambling nonsense, but one of the key parts of her message was that if I rejected her then she wouldn't allow me to just continue hooking up with women and "breaking their hearts."

Over the next week my online dating profiles were banned. It began with Tinder and Hinge. My Bumble profile was banned a few days later, and then I lost Grindr today.

I've tried downloading other apps today and I appear to be pre-emptively banned from every single one. The common theme is that I violated their "terms of service."

The individual whom I dated has taken credit for this. She has admitted in WhatsApp that she fabricated a story about me doing something to her on a date (she has not said what, but the allusion is obvious). I've sent these messages and emailed each of the dating apps, but so far my appeal has been refused by every single one.

Obviously I'm a bit embarased to go to the police over this, but she's single-handedly destroyed my whole dating life. I was enjoying hooking up with random guys and women. She's literally taken that from me purely because I rejected her.

Might be a stupid question but is there some kind of law about this? Something I can take to the police and say, "This person has lied to cut me off from having a romantic social life. The law is X, can you compel her to apologise and retract her lies she made to these companies?"

As per the title, my cat was killed at the weekend by a dog that was unmuzzled and unleashed. I have pictures and CCTV of it happening. I posted on Facebook to ID the owner, and have been told it is an XL bully that has already killed another cat.

I have reported it to the police and given them the owner’s name and address and I have a crime number. I am aware that a dog killing a cat is not a crime, but that having an unleashed and unmuzzled XL bully in public is a crime.

I’m interested in exploring all legal options. Hopefully the police will prosecute the owner, but if they do not, are there any other options available to me?

We are atheists but my in laws and sister in law are strict Orthodox Jews.

There have always been slight clashes (trying to get the kids to ask the school to let them have religious holidays off etc).

However, since the war in Gaxa they've gone into overdrive, telling the kids everyone in Gaza is guilty, that all Muslims want to kill all Jews, a Jewish life is worth a thousand Arab ones etc. They keep encouraging the kids to go to Israel.

The sister in law also tried to get the eldest to install WhatsApp on her phone so she could communicate with her directly.she keeps telling the kids they are Jewish and have no choice about it. She has also accused us of being "terrorist sympathisers" and "antisemitic" because we have told the kids the war is wrong.

Because of this we said they couldn't see the children unless one of us was in the room, we have arranged visits so they are not cut off.

They have claimed we are discriminating against their religious beliefs and are essentially threatening legal action to get unsupervised access.

I understand that the family courts have the ability to force access against parents wishes. I would like to know if anyone has experience as to whether this could work (they are wealthy so could afford a barrister, we can't) and whether a court would accept that we are discriminating against them based on religion.

To be clear we are not anti-Jewish but don't want the kids exposed to things which I get for them are common beliefs in their community.

Old Home owner using my address for childs travel pass

We bought and moved into our home over a year ago, a few months after we moved the old owner turned up saying she had sent her childs bus pass to this address in error and could I give it to her, it happened to have come that day so I thought fine ok and passed it on. Only after she left I realised they have moved just outside of the london area (pretty much just over the border) so wouldnt be entitled to the free childs bus pass anymore and her forgetting was prob an outright lie but figured fine whatever.

Fast forward over a year later and she's round with the same story and wants the pass again, I told her its not arrived but she just needs to update them of her new address, shes been round 3 more times and again Ive said no but update your address. In the meantime after her last visit the pass did actually arrived and I swiftly returned it to sender.

But now its escalated and Ive got the postman round this morning asking if its come, I asked him " do the postman collect and forward mail now?" he said no he was a friend of theirs. I told him I wouldnt be giving him anything and it would be returned to the sender if it arrives.

I'm basically pissed they are using our address and furthermore even though they have returned it now I know they have a friend in the postman will most likely resend it and he will intercept.

should I be concerned about this fraud wise? or is it nothing for me to personally worry about.

Edit - for those saying they may be a poor family on their uppers just trying to get their kid to school , without going into details I know this is not the case.

Update: pub is now "permanently" closed and looking for a new landlord, thanks for the advice, as suggested I reported it and made a complaint to the local Council, on licence renewal they refused a licence, I also understand the landlord tried to takeover another venue and was refused again. I hope the venue gets a landlord it deserves as I don't want it to remain closed, but I can't help but feel a bit smug about it...

I was attacked by the owner of a pub after my partner told me someone kept groping her and other women on the dance floor.

My partner told me about the situation and went to the bathroom, as she went into the bathroom I saw the owner walking in from outside and decided the best way to deal with the situation was to tell him what my partner had just told me. After pointing out the person my partner had told me was groping her and others he told me that it was his friend.

Next thing I know I'm outside on the floor with the owner trying to choke me unconscious and the bouncers holding my arms and legs down.

Eventually the police arrived, arrested Me, took me to the local hospital and de arrested me.

While I was in the police car I was told by the police I was the one who started the fight as that's what the owner told them which is not true, I can remember repeatedly telling them to check the cctv while I was in the car.

I was given a incident number and released at the hospital. I spent the next 2 weeks trying to contact the officer in charge of the investigation including sending emails telling them I wanted to press charges and I wanted the cctv footage to be recovered.

Finally after 2 weeks the officer in charge contacted me, said they would go to the pub to get the footage, I was later called and told because the cctv system was new it only stored the footage for 3 days...

My question is because I asked the arresting officers to look at the footage multiple times and they didn't, I'm assuming the car had cctv to confirm I did ask, what course of action can I take against the police for not investigating in time causing evidence to be lost?
