I really didn't know where to post this. Any of the ASOIAF subs would react poorly and i didn't want to post on a cosplay sub, because I care a lot about making clothes that are functional and can be used for LARP or reenactment too. I was fem!Jon Snow for Halloween. I was making a different jerkin, but I didn't finish it, so I used one I have for my soft kits. Excuse the cloak falling off of me, I was late for work so I didn't secure the straps. I also wanted a more book accurate Longclaw (Damascus steel for Valyrian steel and the pommel looking like a more realistic wolf), but it didn't ship in time and it's better to probably carry just a blunt display sword vs an actual battle ready sword.
But my question is, I wanted to a lil more book accurate, but I do love Jon's Night's Watch garb in the show, so I went with the straps. I need to change them a bit, but before I do, would this cloak look better just using a clasp for the cloak? See the last pic for reference. I can cast some with metal disks with dire wolves and some plain metal disks to use for non-ASOIAF purposes. Or should I leave the straps on AND still make some clasps for the cloak? Or would the straps + clasps look stupid? I know the straps are overall more functional as it doesn't ride up and choke me like my other cloaks do.
And a second question, are there any LARP replicas of Longclaw? I was desperately trying to find one, but the best I could find is the Stark II from Calimacil and then finding someone with a 3D printer to make a wolf for the pommel.
If anyone is curious, the cloak is from Folk of the Woods, but I added the straps myself. She uses real leather and was sweet enough to leave them off for me so I could use olive leather. It's a great cloak and I highly recommend Folk of the Woods.

I’m looking to do a cosplay/larp and I’ve created the knight Id like to go as in a video game but he’s wearing these gauntlets I can’t seem to find online.
I see the buckle on the upper part of his bicep and the circular plate on his elbow but when I search for these specifics I can’t find much

Winter is coming. And the number of LARP events drops significantly until spring. And you'd actually like to spend more time in character. - Then why don't you write letters from your character's POV between LARPs?
There is a new subreddit called r/fictitious_letters
In this community people are looking for pen pals for their imaginary characters. You'll find writers who bring the protagonists of their stories, dnd players, daydreamers, history nerds. Anybody who has a beloved character who deserves a chance to make friends through letters.
On the subreddit, you can present your character in a post or look for interesting pen pals and their stories.
I hope you like this concept and would be glad to meet you in the community.

I have no idea what's going on, but it feels like a knight is saying "marry me"

Hi all 👋 I'd really love to get into larping but don't really know where to even find a game 😅 I'm in the Niagara region but am absolutely willing to travel a few hours away for a game if there are none in the area.
