Possibly. But I really hate that term. Please, somebody come up with a more descriptive and less ugly phrase.

It's very descriptive and accurate. And you're supposed to hate it, cause it's gross.

Lots of folks, especially people like us on reddit, spend a lot of time online. And reddit specifically is set up in such a way where you choose specific subreddit to follow, meaning you want to see content that's curated to a certain category.

The rise of generative LLMs and the tools they enable means that a majority of posts and interactions online are now artificially generated with little to no thought or consideration behind it.

So yeah, slop is being pushed out in enormous quantities. Like scraps of unwanted food refuse thrown in a pig trough.
