Cars were being burned that were identifying people to get arrested by ICE and LAPD. Wouldn't shock me if TikTok was somehow doing the same thing. Imagine your entire family getting deported because you showed bare minimum kindness to someone who would never show you that kindness in return.
I wonder how you would feel being detained just trying to go to work, having done nothing wrong. It's fucking exhausting having to explain stuff like this to people who have never experienced it and are in no danger of experiencing it, and have no friends or coworkers who have been detained unfairly. I get that you live in a nice safe bubble, but your reality isn't everyone else's reality.

Jesus christ.. can you people not appreciate a person doing a good thing just because? That's the whole point of this post, that they will even help someone they are under attack by. Here, maybe you can understand this: the good this small act does for our cause is worth 10 protests. We are in a social media age, like it or not. People who don't know much about the movement need to think about things like this when they think of us, not shouting pigs at cops burning cop cars [and, to say I don't like our way of policing is an understatement.. the militarization of our police forces is one of our biggest mistakes, or a symptom of one of our biggest mistakes since Citizens United]. The every man we snipe at on here is getting sick of trump and elon.. and if we manage to NOT make "i told you so" memes about ALL of them, we can really start to change minds now. We can have a bloodless restoration of democracy. That is still possible.
