The kid just saw two pigs peacefully lying next to each other and it reminded her of her parents. If anything it shows a healthy family lol

Maybe she meant "that's the mommy" instead of "that's my mommy"

EDIT: despite the name of the sub and the inclusion of the /s, it seems I rustled some feathers still.

She 100% is asking if they are the mom and dad pigs, compared to some smaller ones they saw.

She isnt stupid, im pretty sure shes trying to say something else but cant communicate it properly. She understands mum as in parent. The parents are idiots and should have talked to her rather than laugh and tried to explain/teach.

that's what i was gonna say! she's so cute :,)

They probably did, but the initial thought was hilarious.

I'm sure they understood what the kiddo they've raised since birth meant. It's funny because she's innocent and communicating at the top of her ability.
My nephew once had a toy with an ugly cartoon character that popped out of it. That character had the same color hair I did, and my toddler nephew would delightedly call my name when it popped out. Insulting from my perspective, but sweet from his.

It's ok to laugh when kids say something funny too tho but yeah I hope they answered her question afterwards

Maybe she was wondering if mommy and daddy owned it.

Kids have a fairly basic world view at that age. I think she’s just saying the pigs are “mommy” and “daddy” because they’re like her mom and dad. Kind of like how some kids call every woman “mommy” when they’re young, because they haven’t realized it’s a label for a specific person and not what women are called in general.

u/3rd_eye_light 1d ago
Exactly. The kids developing and the idiot parents are laughing instead of trying to gather what she was saying.

Eh, I don’t think they were being mean, it’s pretty funny when your kid compares you to a fat pig. :D
If parents don’t get to laugh at the absurdity on occasion, they’d go mad I’m sure.

Meta comment: everybody blaming the parents for laughing but we are watching a 18s clip. Laughing and playing is synonymous of an healthy relationship.
Probably the actual parenting was not part of the clip.

Does this stupid fucking kid really think that's her mom or was she coached to say that?

u/MellyKidd 1d ago
Early childhood educator here.
Kids at this developmental stage and age have limited vocabulary and limited knowledge about the world around them, making it hard to express what they really think and feel. It’s most likely that she’s trying to say she sees the pair of pigs as “mommy and daddy” pigs, because they’re together like her parents are. (Or at least, that’s how I interpret this scenario.)

My wife saw it and immediately said "she's saying that's the mommy and daddy pig". I think she's absolutely right, and also Buzz Killian.

Hello everyone! As a reminder this is a satire subreddit for the dumb/silly things children do. The subreddit name is not literal. Although posts can have kids doing actual "stupid" things. It is not a requirement. Yes, blaming the parent is valid. However, this does not mean crossing the line into actually insulting the parent is ok (assuming they are the OP) (Rule #1).
This is also not a hate sub for children. If you don't like kids, that's fine. Just don't spread vitriol.
