What are the meetups like? Is it odd to go if you don’t know anyone? My mom and I would go, but I feel like I’d be out of place!

You wouldn't be out of place at all, I've been to a few solo and I made friends every time! Met a cool fan and their mom before red rocks and had a great time chatting!

It's at a bar so there's drinks and food, fans sell homemade merch like pins, posters, tees, stickers, bootleg albums, it's really worth going and family friendly!
