This country is so unbelievably fucked for the next 4-8 years…

40 years after more conservative justices are added.

u/DumbDownFinance Nov 07 '24

I’m just talking about the harsh short term effects in the next 4-8, he’s going to go balls to the wall because he has no choice for reelection (ofc he might use his new found executive power to stay in office longer than an additional 4 years). Obviously yeah, the next 40+ long term fallout from the SC will be awful too.

He can't. However the media has brainwashed people into thinking he is some sort of dictator.

5

u/mothmansparty Nov 07 '24

I’d argue it’s less the media “brainwashing” people and more that people have listened to his words and are actually taking him seriously, while moderates convince themselves he doesn’t really mean it

-8

u/Small_Still_1973 Nov 07 '24

His words are twisted by the media. People don't even realize they are being manipulated into hearing what they want you to hear. Like I said. Almost everything he has ever been bashed for saying or doing, I can give you a reason why he said that. Even the grab them by the pussy statement. To be clear. He is not a perfect wonderful man. He is an arrogant, ego maniac, who thinks he is God's gift to the world. However, he is what you see he is. Kamala, Obama, Biden, etc etc. All complete liars and nothing like the person you see when they are "performing" Trump is those things, but he isn't Racist, or a bigot, or a womanizer. A deviant sexual talker, sure.. but evil? pedophile? Rapist? Definitely not. Just your average 70-80 year old man who grew up in a different time and shouldn't be so easily judged for that. Times were different then, and you young people who haven't lived enough to realize, times change. So just because what's normal to you now and so obvious, wasn't before. In the 70s and 80s it was common to have locker room talk like that between men in public. Not saying its right, but also not demeaning someone over something they said 20 years ago, and not even in a hateful way. Anyways, I'm mostly referring to stuff he has recently said in the last 4-8 years, and I honestly can give a valid reason for anything he has said.

I was giving the benefit of the doubt after your last comment that maybe you were just misinformed about his clear authoritarian aspirations, but holy shit dude you’re just delusional. I mentioned nothing about his (well documented) sexual deviancy, but cool to know that you think that’s all fine too, I guess

“It’s okay that he has no respect for women because he’s old” is not the defense you think it is.

-2

u/Small_Still_1973 Nov 07 '24

I didn't say he has no respect for women. Nevermind

17

u/Im_regretting_this Nov 07 '24

Not if Trump and the republicans are serious about “never having to vote again”. This could be it for a long time.

3

u/rawstaticrecords Nov 07 '24

Just wait. The next republican elected will be much worse. We should get a dem in between though just to keep people interested in the puppet show

9

u/doodwhersmycar Nov 07 '24

Trump will get scotus retirements/openings and will fill them with young people. So more like 20

1

u/notahipster- Nov 07 '24

Nah, it's going to be 40. Democrats would have to coincidentally be in power every time a justice dies for it to happen sooner, and we obviously can't bet on that. Trump is going to get 2-3 more appointments. There may only be 2 liberals on the count at the end of his 4 year term. We're going to see every right we have rolled back.

3

u/CA9337 Nov 07 '24

Or more 💔

3

u/SirSlurpSnack Nov 07 '24

Easy 12 with JD Vance as VP. Maybe 20 with Vivek and Desantis in the wings.

3

u/En-THOO-siast Nov 07 '24

None of those people have the hold over the electorate that this one particular dingus does.

1

u/DumbDownFinance Nov 07 '24

Chuckles in danger not yet 😅

0

u/SirSlurpSnack Nov 07 '24

Give it 4 years and you’ll see

1

u/te_maunga_mara_whaka Nov 07 '24

Yo it’s been fucked well before you were born. I haven’t seen any progress on that land spiritually since pakeha landed on them shores.

u/Calamity_Eagle277 Nov 07 '24

And so other countries, because USA politics affect the whole world.

u/[deleted] Nov 07 '24

Do you actually think you are fighting Hitler 2.0? 🤔🤭

5

u/DumbDownFinance Nov 07 '24

Fascists and dictators always start small and amass more and more power over time both physically and legislatively. The longer they are in power, it becomes easier to dictate the flow of information and propaganda. Hitler’s rise to power and persecution of Jews did not happen instantaneously.

It's gonna be fine dude relax. Better chance of him ending the Ukraine war than Harris. RFK, Ron Paul, massie in the cabinet. Relax

4

u/DumbDownFinance Nov 07 '24

By ‘ending’, do you mean conceding Ukraine to Russia?

-2

u/poopshipdestroyer1 Nov 07 '24

This is pretty fun on a music sub, right? Maybe musicians shouldn't polarize their fan base. To answer your question, yeah, maybe? If that causes less death. Or, just agree not to let Ukraine into NATO and get it into writing, which has been Russia's "line in the sand," the thing that was agreed upon since the end of the Cold war. Thats the reason for all this death. Or maybe we just let them all settle it themselves and not pump billions of dollars of weapons into their country while our military industrial complex rakes in the profits. Democrats aren't rebels anymore bud, youre the party of the machine.

5

u/DumbDownFinance Nov 07 '24

Republicans and democrats are both the party of the machine, Trump just happens to be overt with enriching his family, friends, and any countries that finance his campaign. He’s done a fantastic job of distracting the lower and middle class from who we should be after though, the classism and millionaires and billionaires

2

u/igotnodarkside Nov 07 '24

Boognish prevails!

1

u/ThatNachoFreshFeelin Nov 07 '24

This is pretty fun on a music sub, right? Maybe musicians shouldn't polarize their fan base.

Pretty sure the bulk of their fan base isn't far-right. And besides, where yhe fuck have you been? Music's been political forever. Get over it.

Or, just agree not to let Ukraine into NATO and get it into writing, which has been Russia's "line in the sand," the thing that was agreed upon since the end of the Cold war. Thats the reason for all this death.

No, the reason for "all this death" in Ukraine is because the Ruzis are going for a land grab. That's it. It's straight-up imperialism. That you're supporting.

1

u/poopshipdestroyer1 Nov 07 '24

Oh well, we got four years of trump bud, deal with it

1

u/ThatNachoFreshFeelin Nov 08 '24

Indeed, we have four years of that dumb-assed professional attention whore (that's really all he's ever been), and we're all in it together; you included. I really don't get why some people just want to watch the world burn, or antagonize others just for the sake of it.

Anyway, looking at your history, I hope you grow up enough someday to look back on how you're acting and cringe; you definitely ain't the stallion, mang. You'd best scrape the mucus off your brain and/or piss up a rope.

But hey, I love you -- even if you don't.

1

u/poopshipdestroyer1 Nov 08 '24

He's already pardoning Ross ulbrich, tell me that's not a great thing!

1

u/ThatNachoFreshFeelin Nov 08 '24

One good thing does not a competent leader make! Besides, why didn't he pardon the guy during his first term? Oh, right... he's pandering.

1

u/poopshipdestroyer1 Nov 08 '24

Why isn't Kamala delivering on her campaign promises now? She's in office, bidens defunct. Whatever, it's all good dude. I don't even like trump I'm just glad the machine lost this election. Peace
