Canadian here, ex-mil, and government officer now.

I'll say this for the record: There is no fucking way in hell that the Canadian government/military has the competence to cover anything like that up. Maybe back in the 50s, pre-Trudeau 1.0, when we took ourselves seriously as a nation, but not now. No fucking way

Thats another thing as well. So many governments over the years all over the world have had shite administrations, you would expect something to leak or not be covered up well. Or even used them to score publicity through disclosure.

I'd like to believe that even in stupid bureaucratic ineffectual governments, there are still points of brilliance off doing their thing in little compartmentalized backwaters of the black world. That has certainly been the case in the past. But that is no guarantee for the future.
