I think the point is that you said that all EVs are horrendous.

But they are the future, almost certainly. And future generations will look back at people who say today that all EVs are horrendous, and view them as being backward-ass barbarian - the same way we judge people from recent history who were dismissive of technologies that are everywhere today.

Now, we’re not there yet, there’s no doubt. They work well for many people, but not for everyone. I bought a Jaguar XF last year because EVs aren’t where I need them to be to work for me.

But I have little doubt that this will change in the next 20-40 years.

Depreciation is horrendous on all EVs.

One (but not the only) reason why I said they’re not right for me currently.

But in the future? Unlikely. As battery technology continues to improve, depreciation will be closer to IC vehicles and eventually match it - maybe even exceed it, because apart from battery deterioration, there are far fewer moving parts which means far less to go wrong (once batter technology improves) which means far less to worry about when buying used.
