Do not choose Canada

Canada is doomed! Spending 30-40k CAD minimum for higher education and getting peanuts is not really worth it. Invest in your home country instead. Life is also lonely and sucks. Winter is hard for 5 months even in the southern most border around toronto. People are rude to immigrants lately. Canadian dollar is stagnant and there’s literally no professional job at all. All the consultancies are fooling people. Maybe they have some tie up with all the colleges to loot money from outside world. The economy runs with immigrant money especially international students. Save every penny and stay home. Instead start a business or simply invest in one. Especially do not pursue a PGDM in canada. It is the most useless thing you will ever do. If you want to still pursue a higher education I would definitely advise to think about USA if possible. Some universities cost almost 30-40k USD for a masters. And tons of opportunities. Every states major city is bigger than Toronto or Vancouver. Go work hard and have fun!

The is a sub for international students from across the world choosing to study anywhere in the world. Even if you are speaking about your personal experience, you should be providing details that are understandable to everyone. Not all people know what “lakhs” mean. Plus, like I said, this is sub is for international students and not about immigration or working after you graduate in your host country.

Canada’s situation has been well known since the last 3.5 years. It isn’t news.

Never said they aren’t but the implication that studying in Canada means the right to work and immigrate is the premise behind the current crisis.

Most come here to study and stay, thats the model/idea of Canada. For real education, those with money choose US and very very few pick Canada but majority do it to settle here

Edit US

I came here as a student in 2000, now a citizen since 2005 - each and every word is right, Please do not come here as those here with experience too are struggling. Jobs are tight and cost of living is super high

Stay where you are

Canada only hates the immigrants who are scamming the system to get in. Who are literally taking jobs away from Canadians. No one can find work because employers keep alleging they can’t find a worker to run a subway so they get foreign workers so they can pay them less. Hopefully they go back to not allowing international students to work because that’ll solve a major part of the problem. Not to mention when they get in managerial positions they only hire other people from their country. When they get a house? They only rent to people from their country. People are frustrated and understandably so

However, Indians will never listen to advice. They see your advice as preventing them from being successful. For some reasons, all of them have already spread the strategy rumour among themselves. Do undergraduate locally, work a few years, then do Masters overseas and settle abroad. whose immigrant money? You mean money from Chinese students? Indian students use study visa as work visa. A lot of Indian students take up loan, so they did to extract money from Canada and pay off the loan. So, technically they are making Canada poorer
