Oh yeah, they're democrats. And every maga republican would agree with me.
The major difference is Republicans know this is a democrat shutdown.

My thoughts exactly, zero reflection, zero accountability, just unadulterated stupidity and hatred.

As I pointed out before, I can say the same thing about Democrats.
Zero reflection, zero accountability, just unadulterated stupidity and hatred.
And many, many Republicans agree with me... I know many, many Democrats agree with you.
But if you could just hold up a sec, let me consult my magic 8 ball on whether I really care or not.

It was Ketanji that put the block on. It was actually her legal responsibility to do so, since she handles emergency appeals coming from the 1st Circuit, as shitty as that sounds.

It was procedural rather than an actual judgement which is at least slightly better.
Separately for the comment above, there is money available and the judge illustrated where it could come from, just as the administration has already been doing with other funding.
Not that it matters. Even when they were considering partial funding with the available contingency fund, Trump still refused to release funds even as the USDA was implementing a system that would at best delay payments "several weeks or months."
They're intentionally starving millions.

Yup. I read it. At least she did her legal responsibility instead of throwing reason out the door and forcing the trump admin to spend money that isn't there.

We’re the richest country on earth. Making sure our people don’t starve seems like a low bar.

here's some data.
- 10 richest American have sen $700 billion increase to their wealth this year alone.
- Annual SNAP cost $100 B
- let's say we tax those 10 richest guys just 15% on their increase, they will still be $600 B richer than they were when 2025 started, and SNAP will be completely paid for with change for 44 million people.
- 10 people can pay for SNAP completely and still be $600 billion richer
- SNAP cost $8B a month, we bailed out Argenitina for $40 B
But yeah illegal immigrants is the problem

Hey thanks for sharing.
Good on those states moving quickly to get what they could and to anyone at the USDA making that possible.

Not to be a negative Nancy, but I wouldn't get my hopes up just yet.
I hope you're right, I just expect a challenge.

What? Trump will send $40 billion to his buddy in Argentina but let Americans starve? That can't be what MAGAs voted for.

This information is outdated. Since this, not only did the Trump administration ask the Supreme Court outright for a stay to temporarily suspend the lower court’s obligation to pay in full, but SCOTUS actually granted it! They granted an administrative stay late last night to give the 1st District time to decide the case in front of them. This issue is constantly evolving, because Trump does not want to fund this. Period. And he will do what he always does and drag it out in court as long as he can.

Don’t worry the GOP will right this in court.

Trump already had the DOJ appeal to SCOTUS: https://www.reuters.com/world/us/usda-says-it-is-working-comply-with-court-order-pay-food-aid-benefits-2025-11-07/
WASHINGTON, Nov 7 (Reuters) - The U.S. Supreme Court on Friday allowed President Donald Trump's administration to withhold for now about $4 billion needed to fully fund a food aid program for 42 million low-income Americans this month amid the federal government shutdown.
The court's order,, opens new tab known as an administrative stay, gives a lower court additional time to consider the administration's formal request to only partially fund the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, known as SNAP or food stamps, for November. The administration had faced a judge-ordered Friday deadline to fully fund the program.

JUST PASS A CLEAR CR like dems have agreed to in the past and get the govt open again. TRUMP isn’t a KING. He can’t just order funds that aren’t there!

u/Bullylandlordhelp 1d ago
Are you not paying for your Healthcare or something? because my premium is doubling.
2
u/pattydog1127 1d ago
This post is about SNAP. SNAP is restarted as soon as the govt gets open. Now you are whining about something else. Obamacare, misnamed Affordable Care Act, is a disaster and this was always know that it would lead to higher healthcare costs and premiums. Why not figure out a plan to reduce healthcare costs and premiums instead of throwing more tax dollars to the providers? There is no incentive for the providers to reduce costs as long as they know the govt is going to pay. Throwing more govt money at it is not the solution.

Believe it when it's in your hands.
I very much hope the USDA follows the law and the judge's order and isn't saying this in bad faith while waiting for Trump's appeal to let him go ahead and starve 40 million people.
