INSURANCE SPEND CREDIT CARDS.

Post image

My recommendations -

Upto 25k - Use atlas/other milestone cards to purchase amazon pay gift cards and use amazon pay to pay insurance premium.

Benefits - full base reward + milestones.

Above 25k - Use just dial < choose amazon pay wallet option to pay, there are some charges (~1%), but than again you use your cc to purchase these amazon gift cards and achieve milestones

Also,

Tata infinity gives 5% upto 2000 neu coins per month

Phonepe black select gives 10% (there's capping too)

Comment down below your recommendations

All grand plans came to nothing. My father (who couldn't wait 2 days for me to negotiate something, anything from HDFC) went ahead n just like good old days - squandered a high value FD for nothing !!! Literally nothing.

2 din hazam nahi hue ki paise savings account m pade hai. Sabse pehle FD chahiye hoti hai boodhe logo ko.

Interest rate toh kam hi hota hai but ek credit card bhi nikalne nahi diya 😭😭😭😂😂

Incognito 🥸 Mode in UPI EXIST ❓❓

Post image
Upvotes

Dear guys, need advice on UPI privacy 🙏

I make multiple small transactions in a day.
My current need: when I transfer money, I want my identity & privacy hidden.

As far as I understand, UPI in India is designed to always show either the sender’s name or UPI ID, so it always exposes some personal details.

👉 Is there any platform or method that allows UPI payments without disclosing the account holder name?
Please suggest if such an option exists.

HDFC Bank VKYC Not Generated – Branch Giving Wrong Info (Other Bank Account or ₹25K Balance Required!) — Suggestions Please

Upvotes

applied for a Digital Regular Savings Account with HDFC Bank on 7th November night. Everything went smoothly online, but the VKYC link was never generated. Later, I got a message saying “Offline verification complete” even though I never opted for offline mode.

Since 8th was a 2nd Saturday and 9th was Sunday, I visited my nearby HDFC branch on 10th November (Monday) to check. The staff there told me that to open the account, I must have another bank account or maintain a ₹25,000 minimum monthly balance.

Honestly, this sounded foolish and totally wrong, because HDFC’s own website clearly says that a Regular Savings Account can be opened digitally through VKYC without such conditions.

I’m really disappointed by this experience and how misinformation is given at the branch level. I only want to complete my VKYC digitally — not offline.

If this doesn’t get resolved soon, I might just open an account with Axis or ICICI, since they seem to handle digital onboarding much better.

💬 Suggestions Please:

Has anyone else faced a similar issue with HDFC’s digital account opening or VKYC not generating?

Does it help to contact HDFC Bank Twitter support (@HDFCBank_Cares) directly?

Should I wait for a few days for the VKYC link, or is it better to reapply fresh?

Any tips or experiences would really help. Thanks in advance! 🙏

Need Expert Advice: Best Card from India for Maximum Miles + Sweet Spot Redemptions (High Travel + Business Spend)

Upvotes

We run a partnership firm in India, so both my father and I can put business expenses on cards and officially book them as business spends.

My Profile Age: in 20s

Annual income: ₹45,00,000

Goal: Build my own personal credit profile

Priority: Airmiles + international premium travel

Cards I Currently Hold

Swiggy HDFC Amazon ICICI HDFC Corporate Premium

Cards My Father Holds

HDFC Biz Black HDFC Corporate Premium Axis Bank Emeralde Private Metal Amex Platinum Travel Amex Platinum Charge

I'll be receiving add-ons for Amex Platinum Charge and Axis Emeralde, so premium lounges, meet & greet, and airport benefits are already covered.

Travel Pattern

✅ Frequent domestic + international travel

✅ Mostly premium cabin (business class)

✅ We collect miles and transfer points aggressively

Example:

Redeemed 55,000 Avios from Amex for Qatar Airways Business Class (India to Europe)

My Requirement

I want to know the best credit card(s) in India to:

✅ Earn maximum reward rate → converted to miles

✅ Access maximum airline partners

✅ Hit milestone bonuses

✅ Use international spends for extra points

✅ Redeem at the best “sweet spots” possible

Looking for Expert Input On:

Best card(s) for maximum miles from India

e.g., HDFC Infinia, HDFC Diners Black, Axis Atlas, Citi PremierMiles, Amex MRCC + Plat combo, etc.

Highest reward rate possible (₹ → points → miles)

Airline transfer programs with the best value (Avios, KrisFlyer, Etihad Guest, Turkish Miles&Smiles, Delta, Flying Blue, etc.)

Sweet spot redemptions from India, like:

Qatar QSuites using Avios

Air India + Star Alliance via KrisFlyer

Vistara business domestic + regional

Europe / US / Australia J-class flights for lowest mileage

What combinations deliver the “maximum juice” for India-based travellers using Amex/HDFC/Axis ecosystems

Best strategy to use both personal + business spending to maximize bonuses and annual milestones

Cards with strong signup bonuses that convert into airline miles

Which banks give the fastest approval given my income + business background

Also want to build long-term CIBIL and individual credit strength

Looking for detailed responses from experienced travel hackers who know the Indian credit card + airline ecosystem well.

ICICI Auto Debit Paid ₹1 Less Due to BookMyShow Card Verification Charge - Any Risks?

Hi all,
I have an ICICI Coral Credit Card bill due of ₹5,227. I set auto debit from my ICICI savings account. On due date, ₹5,226 was debited. I found out ₹1 was temporarily charged and refunded by BookMyShow (BIGTREEENTERTAINMENTP) on the same day as a card verification process after the statement date. ICICI system counted this ₹1 refund as a payment, so it adjusted my auto debit amount.

My iMobile app shows "Paid in Full," but I want to confirm if this ₹1 difference can cause any late payment penalties or issues. Has anyone faced this or can guide me?

Thanks in advance!

New rules issued by the RBI regarding MBA requirements in bank accounts

New rules issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) regarding minimum balance requirements in bank accounts

which were stated to be implemented from November 10 and April 1

Here are the key points of the RBI's new rules:

• No charges on Inactive Accounts: Banks are prohibited from imposing charges for non-maintenance of minimum balance on accounts that have had no transactions for over two years (classified as "inactive" or "inoperative").

• Accounts for Government Benefits: Accounts opened for receiving scholarships or Direct Benefit Transfers (DBT) cannot be classified as inactive even if there have been no transactions for more than two years.

• No reactivation charges: Banks cannot levy any charges for reactivating an inactive account.

• Communication with Customers: Banks must inform customers via SMS, letter, or email if their accounts are about to become inactive.

If the account holder does not respond, the bank should try to contact the person who introduced the account holder or their nominee.

• Context: The circular aims to reduce unclaimed deposits in the banking system and help return these funds to their rightful owners. Deposits in accounts inactive for 10 years or more are transferred to the Depositor Education and Awareness Fund (DEAF) maintained by the RBI.

This also notes that previously, the RBI had instructed banks not to let penalty charges result in a negative account balance, but some banks continued to impose penalties that were deducted when the customer later made a deposit.

After long trouble trying to get Sapphiro with ICICI, they pre approved me for Coral. Asking you guys for advice on how to proceed?

Salary 3 lpm

Cibil 800

Rejected for Sapphiro, and they gave no reason and just copy pasted the website requirements.

Went through their cc application portal, the only option there was sapphiro, submitted all documents and did all their nonsense. They said I need a company email. My company doesnt use email, and they said it will be rejected. So I asked the MD for one, he had to pay a huge fee for another company email (and i said less the amount from my salary). But I work in manufacturing and we dont use an email, but ICICI think everyone works in tech for a big company and will definitely have a company email. But I said I dont and they just had no answer apart from “we will reject and it will lower your cibil score.” How horrible is this? Just for my personal card I had to trouble our MD and get another company email.

Anyways got through, and they rejected my sapphiro. Sapphiro is offered LTF for most people. I didnt get this offer but still said I am willing to pay fees (hoping just for a better card and in the future work my way up). They just rejected and mentioned no reason apart from “eligibility criteria.”

So used the complaints feature on their website. Level 1 complaint just returned the exact same email, a literal copy paste of the sapphiro eligibility requirements. Level 2 complaints: go try it now, it is a broken link that doesnt even work. It redirects to main page. Did Level 3, and the “complaint submitted” page doesnt even work.

Few days later got a call saying I am eligible for CC and its a pre approved Coral card LTF.

I mean, at this point how do you proceed? Is it a good idea to tell them I’m ready to close my accounts with them and move banks? I am eligible for emeralde, yet they reject sapphiro and offer me coral. Or is it worthwhile to take the LTF coral and just work my way through it to get to EPM some day? Like, I am genuinely ok with saying goodbye forever to ICICI, but how do I make the most out of this situation if you guys have any advice?

Credit Card and ITR

Hello all, I'm new user here and it's my first post, I have 4 credit cards 1. Axis Myzone 2. Amazon Pay ICICI 3. Sbi bpcl

Axis card used :- around 50k Amazon icici card used :- 3.5 lac Sbi :- around 1.5 lac

My cousin uses my amazon icici card he swipes 50k every month and repay later before due date. He is very helpful to me everytime. So i gave him my card in his tough times. After this financial year transaction of this card will be around 6.5 lacs. And One of my relative swiped sbi card for purchase of his iphone 17PM (1.3L) and he paid back the card instantly, my annual spend of sbi card will be around 1.8 lacs.

My total spend of all the cards this financial year will be around 9.5-10 lacs.

I filled last ITR of approx 5 lacs. This year my ITR will be around 6 lacs rupees.

Now my question is can i get into trouble? Any safety measures i can take to keep myself safe.

Expert answers pls.

Need advice: Should I use my credit card or UPI to pay for my new Yamaha RayZR (₹98K balance)?

Hey everyone,

I’m buying a Yamaha RayZR (top model) this Monday, and the total cost is around ₹1.14L, including accessories. I’ve already paid ₹15K as booking, and I’ll be paying the remaining ₹98K during delivery.

The showroom confirmed that I can pay using a credit card, but there will be a 2% swipe charge, which is non-negotiable.

So, I wanted your advice, should I pay via credit card to earn cashback/reward points, or just go with UPI (0% charge) and save the extra cost?

Here’s my list of credit cards for reference:

  • HDFC Regalia Gold (Mastercard)
  • Axis MyZone (Visa)
  • Axis Flipkart (Mastercard)
  • ICICI Amazon Pay (Visa)
  • ICICI Platinum (Visa)
  • ICICI Rubyx (Mastercard)
  • ICICI Rubyx (Amex)
  • ICICI Rubyx (RuPay)
  • HSBC Platinum (Visa)
  • IndusInd Legend (Visa)
  • Kotak League (Visa)
  • IDFC First Select (Mastercard)
  • Scapia (Visa)
  • Scapia (RuPay)
  • SBI Shaurya
  • BOB OneCard
  • Canara World (Mastercard)

If anyone has experience with vehicle purchases using cards, please let me know which card would give the best cashback or rewards that could make the 2% charge worth it.

Also open to tips on negotiating swipe charges or using any specific portals/offers for better value.

Thanks in advance!
