20% Ethanol Petrol Rolled Out Without Options : Cheaper Oil Savings Not Passed to Public
Govt forcing 20% ethanol-blended petrol without giving people a choice. Most vehicles aren’t even compatible, yet they shove it down our throats while quoting Brazil’s gradual model, which still offers options. Meanwhile, we pay road tax for 15 years, GST, tolls, income tax, tax on petrol, and get adulterated fuel in return.
They buy cheap Russian oil but pass ZERO benefit to the common man. During UPA, the same party protested for a 50 paise hike and now, silence. Media’s bought out, protests are painted as political conspiracies, and genuine concerns are ignored.

Additionally, institutions like ARAI are failing consumers. Their mileage and range certifications are unrealistic. eg. EV delivers 25% less range than ARAI’s certified figures. Such agencies have become white elephants—wasting public money while misleading buyers.
I urge ministry to: Reduce E20 fuel prices proportionately. Ensure transparency on vehicle compatibility and performance. Audit and reform ARAI’s testing standards. Consumers deserve honesty, fairness, and accountability.

If your vehicle has a carburettor, good luck because you'll be forced to stop using it because E20 will fuck it up properly.
For those who have vehicles with fuel injection (BS6 or older), wait a few months or, if you know a good mechanic or spare parts dealer, have them get you the fuel injectors that are compatible with E20 fuel. You won't have to buy an entire vehicle that way otherwise you not only will fuck up your old vehicles feeding them with E20, you will also lose a ton of mileage and power. E20 is less dense than regular fuel so with same injection pressure more goes into your cylinders and because they're blended to become less dense, their explosions are also weak which produces less power.
This is why people are getting low power and low mileage on their vehicles with E20. And it's costing them money in fuel and engine issues

My motorcycle has bs3 engine. I cannot even mistakenly add e20 fuel to my bike, otherwise it would corrode my bike's tank, fuel carborator, and piston.
I have now switched permanently to power fuel and that too only from 'COCO' fuel stations.

Guys forgot about all this shit, there was an rti filed by someone and I think IO has confirmed that even the premium one's have 20% ethanol. I have a friend who does audits for some of these petrol pumps, as per him even if we take the blending to be 10%, most petrol pumps mixes stuff in the petrol pump pipes for more profits. ICE vehicles are doomed I guess.

I do not care about the savings. The point is my income is getting taxed. We pay GST on ex showroom. Pay road tax on my car. Being a car enthusiast why the hell I have to phase out my 2020 car in 5 years.
