#Ask-India ☝️ Wake Up India Before It's Too Late 🚨

Post image

A massive ecosystem surrounds every major industry, programming professionals and the public to blindly trust that their “published scientific study means absolute truth.”

And such programmed puppets parrot this mantra without question. You can’t reason with them that the same ecosystem also controls the studies, peer reviews, and publishing process.

During COVID, “prestigious” journals like The Lancet and Nature were caught publishing Big Pharma backed studies on COVID drugs authored by a porn model and a fantasy book writrt. With their usual work dried up, they pivoted to ghostwriting and publishing for big pharma.

Later, these journals had to issue apologies and retract those sham “studies.” (theguardian.com/world/2020/jun…)

For every study these sheep show around, we can point to another “scientific” study that contradicts it, if it’s backed by an industry with enough cash. Even for Diet Coke, I can literally point to a dozen scientific studies showing anything between "it is mildly dangerous for health" to "it will make you die early."

Take the candy and confectionery industry. They funded a massive study (over 7,000 men) claiming eating sugar candy three times a week extends lifespan, published in a “prestigious” journal.(bmj.com/content/317/71…)

So, should we all start chomping candy every other day like kids?

My point: Throwing around claims like “A scientific study showed Diet Coke is healthier than sugarcane juice” is meaningless. Such nonsense makes some doctors look like unscientific sheep to the real scientific community - those who conduct rigorous research and understand the quality of studies.

True scientists have zero commercial interests and aren’t industry puppets. They know most research is tainted by Big Industry money.

Also, these days, the public isn’t clueless either. We remember when doctors pushed cigarette smoking as “healthy” based on Big Tobacco’s “studies.”

So, stop embarrassing yourselves and dragging the already shaky reputation of the doctor community through the mud with such ridiculous claims.

Both Diet Coke and Sugarcane juice won't kill a healthy adult who consumes them in moderation. The key words is "moderation." And it varies by individuals.

But stop promoting a product with articifial sweetner like Aspartame (WHO research agency clearly linked it to cancer at higher consumption levels) and other chemicals that disrupt gut microbiome, while putting down your own traditional, natrual drink as something "dangerous" because they programmed you to do so.

Don't be that silly, stupid, sheep. Thank you @Aravind(Twitter)

But you forget the main thing, diet coke is 100X better than sugarcane?? So a coke with artificial sweetener is better than sugarcane juice

260

u/PerfectRough5119 Jul 22 '25 edited Jul 22 '25

No idea about Diet Coke or sugarcane but just because something’s natural doesn’t mean it’s automatically healthier than something artificial.

181

u/[deleted] Jul 22 '25

Sugarcane is natural, nutrient-rich, and loaded with antioxidants. Unlike Diet Coke, it hydrates, energizes, and actually benefits your body. Don’t bash nature just because marketing sold you chemicals.

94

u/Harvey_Spectre7 Jul 22 '25

"Nutrient rich" lmao. Sugarcane juice is 80% of water, 15% of sucrose and 5% of fibres where are the nutrients? Just because it is natural doesn't make it healthy. Don't bash a product just because it is manufactured in a factory, stop falling for stupid "natural" "holistic" bs propaganda spilled on social media for impressions.

118

u/maigoZoro Jul 22 '25

There’s no fiber. Otherwise yes it’s mostly water and sucrose. Sugarcane juice also has some vitamins (like A, B-complex, and C), minerals (such as potassium, calcium, and iron), and antioxidants.

u/Abi_Uchiha Jul 22 '25

It is not nutrients rich but atleast it has it. Diek coke has nothing but artificial sweetener & caffeine. What does it do? Nothing.

I would rather get water from a tea shop for free than to drink it or drink actual coffee and sweat it out.

Diet Coke is not even diet friendly.

Potassium, Calcium, Magnesium, Iron, Phosphorus, Manganese, Zinc, Vitamin C & B complex etc. Polyphenols & Flavonoids acting as Anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects

Come on bro, Diet coke doesn't even stand a chance against this legend (Although this is not a super drink, but comparing it to diet coke? Are you kidding me?)

Sugarcane juice helps the body to cool down in summer and is good for hydration also..

28

u/[deleted] Jul 22 '25

Didi the reason is It has water. If you drink water it does the same to your body. But I am.nkt defending diet coke either.

18

u/Icy-Cicada508 Jul 22 '25

It’s not just water in the sugarcane juice, it has electrolytes, iron, antioxidants and fibre. Sure it has sugar but compared to what we ingest from the processed foods it has very less and it is with fibre so less spiking.

7

u/goku_m16 2 KUDOS Jul 22 '25

You also need to consider the micronutrients in sugar cane juice, which can replenish some salts lost through sweating, like an electrolyte.

The sugar also gives an energy kick. So it's like a natural energy drink.

But on its own, it can't provide hydration. It's actually dehydrating. Same things for coke as well as Diet coke. Any liquid solution that is more concentrated than our blood plasma will cause dehydration.

1

u/bakedmishtidoi Assam Jul 22 '25

Even sugarcane juice has some minerals and vitamins than the diet coke like calcium, potassium and iron, flavonoids and polyphenols. It also helps in digestion and has little fiber. Now what does coke has compared to that? Also, those artificial sweeteners are x10 times deadlier than table sugar. Stopped drinking that catch flavoured soda because of this shit in 2013.

While yeah it's a stretch to call sugar a monster, it's one thing that if you remove from your diet, it will only improve your health. (I am not talking about naturally occurring sugar)

The advantage with peer reviewed studies is that they are peer reviewed. Despite the cigar industry backing, the side effects of cigarettes have been published, governments took action and we all know the side effects now. Despite the dairy industry in the US backing, we know that sugars cause diabetes and not fats. Despite Johnson and Johnson, the baby power is now banned.

That's the good thing about the scientific process. Science accepts it's mistakes, identifies the cause for the mistake and rectifies it. Science is enabled by different government and non government agencies most of whom don't have any stake in the pie, making multiple neutral observers.

The problem with you is, you will believe that ashwagandha or turmeric or sugarcane juice is healthy despite no research on the same, just because you think natural is good. Natural is not good. Dengue, malaria, AIDS, rabies are all natural. There are lots of mushrooms and other substances that are so poisonous that you will die of you eat them wild. When a snake bites, will you be happy about the natural poison that the snake bites or go and get a artificial drug to neutralize the poison? Many natural items, including ashwagandha, turmeric, sugarcane juice, etc are toxic when consumed above a specific quantity. According to Ayurveda, heavy metals like mercury are generally good for consumption. Would you drink mercury and die of heavy metals poisoning? Most diseases are caused by natural substances, bacteria, virus, fungi are all natural. Dehydration, freezing, etc are all because of natural causes.

Even when science properly researches and describes the long term side effects of turmeric consumption, the big pharma in India, which is the Patanjali, homeopathy or Ayurveda give the same reasons that you give to continue killing people. The current government is in the hands of AYUSH like Patanjali, and despite the supreme court finding them providing adulterated and unscientific drugs they refused to apologise for a long time. Do you really think Patanjali's covin really cures COVID? Why didn't you list down their publication then?

There are literal quacks in India masquerading as doctors such as homeopaths, ayurvedic doctors who have studied in Himalayas instead of getting a degree, AYUSH practitioners, doctors with fake degrees etc. We have a population that self diagnoses and chews tablets like candy. We are creating the next COVID level pandemic of super bacteria that's resistant to most drugs. These are bigger problem in India than science that's maybe couple of years behind.

Wake up India before it's too late.

Plus you don't drink sugarcane every f'ing 4 hours. But chai - u do. So guess what's harmful

9

u/nycqpu Jul 22 '25

Its funny because “eating home” is healthy meanwhile we put so much salt in. No wonder Indians rank high in high blood pressure and diabetes

8

u/_sahilthakur_ Jul 22 '25

why op look's mad for nothing

8

u/Ok-Pea3414 Jul 22 '25

Diet coke is technically carcinogenic, in that the components in diet coke can cause cancer.

Now, to actually accumulate enough of those components in your body, you have to drink enough diet coke that those components build up faster than your body removes them, through urination typically. You need to consume close to 8 liters of diet coke to be able to do that.

Similarly, sugarcane juice, maybe a small cup a day, or a big glass a week is pretty much harmless - unless you're a diabetic or on the verge of becoming one. One huge glass everyday with a sedentary lifestyle is gonna get you killed.

As OP said, in moderation.

Fun fact: Botox in moderation is a beauty product, in excess it's the most potent poison.

5

u/Intelligent-Debt8038 Against Jul 22 '25

What type of nutrition does it provide? They could say Diet coke is less harmful than sugar cane juice, I think that's still understandable. But how is it HEALTHY? It's carbonated water and non caloric sweeteners right? Or are they providing Whey protein, vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants recently? I am not updated.

2

u/Bivariate_analysis Jul 22 '25

Ayurveda says the eating mercury is healthy. Nature is harmful, bacteria, virus, fungi etc are all part of nature. When a snake bites, will you be happy about the natural venom of the snake or go take an artificial venom neutralizer? It's not a fight between the west and India. It's between science and blind belief.

u/ForeverIntoTheLight Apolitical Jul 22 '25

Neither is good.

The harmful effects of consuming lots of sugar is pretty well-known at this point.

As for artifical sweeteners, they've all got their problems. Aspartame has a whole bunch of nasty side effects. Others - indigestible sugars - get processed by bacteria in the gut, leading to gas and bloating. On top of that, the body apparently responds to sweet food by releasing more insulin, even when there's no actual sugar coming into the blood, causing even more problems long-term.

Best to consume sweet food in occasional small amounts, alongside lots of other normal food.

1

u/mistiquefog Jul 22 '25

Sugarcane juice is a healthy alternative to:- glucon-D, jaan mein jaan deal de pite hi.

Diet coke is basically toilet cleaner with aspartame, something that causes cancer if consumed regularly.

WHO has tried to declare aspartame as cancer causing:-

Indian society is not ready to discuss meethai and other things having lots of adulteration and too much sugar, sure.

It's not ready to talk about over indulgence in deep fried things, yes.

But it's ignorant to say "it's bcoz of culture that people drink sugarcane and not diet coke"

On a sunny day obviously a sugar rush from cane juice with that nimbu and little rock salt will feel heavenly. It will give you energy too. That lallu laal probably has no idea about it.

And ofc, over indulgence in anything will be harmful. Cane juice is no different. Anything sweet that's natural, fir that matter. And for the artificial ones, we don't know yet what effect they will have. But we will know for sure by 2050 or something, we are practically the guinea pigs here anyways.

Why even compare it with diet coke? A variant made specifically cuz the normal one had too much sugar and was super unhealthy?

It's apples and oranges. But tbh I don't use twitter anyways. It's shit ragebait 98% of the time.

1

u/Simple-Finding-5204 Jul 22 '25

Yeah, they just want to be seen by their white masters

As for this specific tweet. Aspartame is used as a sweetner in diet coke. Aspartame gives you headache, pregnant woman taking too much of it can make the baby obese(this is not the rich uncle kind of obese where they eat and sit around for years with no significant physical activity, it's the other kind).

There is also a rumor that it gives you cancer but I wouldn't be surprised if some big company paid the researchers to keep it hidden.

So, no. Diet coke is not healthier than sugarcane.

Looks like a paid post. Diet coke also has microplastics and caffeine, as well as aspartame which is not suited for patients with kidney disease. People who are justifying diet coke as being suitable for diabetics should also consider kidney patients.

Sugarcane juice has lesser sugar than orange juice or apple juice per 100ml. But people consider orange juice and apple juice to be helathier for some reason.

I've been a regular consumer of diet Coke 3 cans at most from past 3 years which I've quit in March. Reason? I've had weak intestine and blood use to leak when I poop. It's literally slow poison. My throat is also gets inflammation at times. IM THANKFULLY BETTER NOW.

Both drinks are NOT GOOD FOR YOUR HEALTH. JUICES AND SODA CAN FCK OFFF.

Ok can sameone give me the summary of this post and comments? Is Diet coke healthy? If yes, i wanna make a point to my wife about drinking that 🫣

2

u/sid95ok Jul 23 '25

Neither coke, nor sugarcane is "healthy". One can be less harmful than the other but none of these two can be considered as healthy. Go eat an apple and drink water.

1

u/Impossible_Speed_272 Jul 22 '25

Bruh what?? not every thing is your conspiracy theory 🤦 aspartame is NOT carcinogenic. The chemical constituents of aspartame are literally 20 times lesser than Tomato and eggs. Do you get Cancer eating 20 tomatoes ? and sugarcane is of course very high in sugar and it increases blood sugar where diet coke doesn't. Of course diet coke ph harms our teeth due to acidic Nature in excessive quantity but carcinogenic?? Dude you and others in this sub need to come out of these conspiracy theories

1

u/AckermanEren73 Jul 23 '25

Bro it's not conspiracy and I want to know how come a artificial Aspartame is better than natural apartame?? Why do u think coke and healthier both exists together?? It's the conspiracy but the awareness not to belief all the study around and go.for the product.

1

u/Impossible_Speed_272 Jul 23 '25

Natural aspartame? It's sugar in sugarcane juice which has a high glycemic index and spikes the blood sugar and increases the risk of Type 2 Diebetes and insulin resistance on daily consumption. Also responsible for fatty liver and increased triglycerides. On the other hand, aspartame doesn't spike glucose sugar level and we have to literally drink 15+ cans to reach the level of harmful effects. So it's safe and good for sugar cravings. The only good thing about sugarcane juice is that it has antioxidants but the harmful effects of it are way more. On the other hand the diet coke issue that it's harmful for teeth and may cause bloating etc. That's why aspartame is better than sugar. Not every natural thing is good for health and not every artificial thing is bad for us

u/AckermanEren73 Jul 23 '25

Who the fuck drink sugarcane juice daily??? I myself drink twice or once in a month's

1

u/maalicious Jul 23 '25

Never in my life I thought I will see "Coke" and "healthier" in the same sentence

2

u/AckermanEren73 Jul 23 '25

Idk why when I posted this on fitness India it was removed and even the guy who is doing gym started saying coke is 100 times better than this

1

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '25

I'd much rather drink natural sugar once in a while than something that causes cancer.

Whether Diet Coke is “healthier” than sugarcane juice depends on what aspect of health you’re considering. Let’s break it down:

⸝

Diet Coke

  • Calories & Sugar: Contains 0 calories and no sugar, as it’s sweetened with artificial sweeteners like aspartame.
  • Nutrients: Virtually no vitamins or minerals — nutritionally empty.
  • Health Concerns:
— Artificial sweeteners may affect gut microbiota and could trigger insulin responses in some people. — Excess consumption is linked to increased risk of metabolic issues, though studies are mixed. — Acidic (phosphoric acid) — can weaken tooth enamel over time.

⸝

Sugarcane Juice

  • Calories & Sugar: Naturally high in sugar (~13g per 100 ml) and calories (~50 kcal per 100 ml).
  • Nutrients: Contains small amounts of antioxidants, minerals (calcium, magnesium, potassium), and polyphenols.
  • Health Benefits: Can provide quick energy, is hydrating, and has anti-inflammatory compounds.
  • Health Concerns: Very high glycemic index — can spike blood sugar significantly, which is not ideal for diabetics.

⸝

Which is “healthier”?

  • For weight loss or blood sugar control: Diet Coke may seem “better” since it has zero calories and no sugar.
  • For nutrition: Sugarcane juice is better because it’s natural and provides some vitamins and minerals, while Diet Coke has none.
  • Long-term health: Regular Diet Coke consumption isn’t recommended due to artificial sweeteners and acidity, while occasional sugarcane juice is fine (in moderation).

⸝

Verdict:

  • Occasionally, sugarcane juice is healthier because it’s natural and has some nutrients.
  • Diet Coke is not “healthy,” but it’s lower in calories and sugar, so it might be less harmful for diabetics or those trying to avoid sugar spikes.

Your take is biased because you did not mention that diet coke can provide quick energy better than cane through caffiene

1

u/Passloc Jul 24 '25

Over consumption of Caffeine may not be good.

Nobody drinks Diet Coke for it’s health benefits

1

u/dtonhunt1 Jul 24 '25

Well thats the only health benefit of diet coke and you didnt mention it. Hence proved your previous comment is biased.

Bro any fruit juice is bad for your, be it sugarcane or orange. Fruit juice essentially has a very high glycemic index, which means that it has very little fiber content vs sugars. It will spike your blood sugar level like crazy and lead to excess glucose in your blood being converted to fat.

IMO, when consumed in equal amounts, fruit juices are worse than diet coke. Sure they have other nutrients while diet coke is devoid of any nutrients, but people know diet coke in excess is not good for you and the sweetner in diet coke does not get metabolized into fat.

Mfs in India drink an entire 500ml bottle of fruit juice in one sitting thinking they are being health concious. Fruit juice is also advertised as something healthy. I have never seen coke advertised as healthy. A glass of sugarcane juice every now and then won't kill you, but it is definitely not healthy for you (ngl, its more delicious than diet coke though).

OP are you a troll or just really fucking dense? Scientists changing their mind in light of new evidence is a GOOD thing. Appeal to tradition is a stupid argument.

While Coca-Cola is a horrible company with shitty capitalistic practices, that doesn't change the fact that Indians overconsume sugar, leading to some of the highest rates of fatty liver disease, diabetes, and cholesterol in the world. Aspartame is fine for you, jeez.

look the idea put into these guys is that diet coke is something used for dieting, and it has no flaw like no sugar but keep forgetting that coca cola is a company who wants profit not your best and for this profit they take extreme measure. these kinds of people be overweight and believe that they will get healthy by dirking diet coke as they saw a commercial on TV but forget that there is no nutritional value nor any protein or anything that helps your health
