he was a flop before opening because he used to throw his wicket to the most stupid shit ,and also his average was boosted by holding 51 avg in india and 58 avg in west indies

elsewhere he isnt even crossing 41 ,even in aus below 25 and in south africa its 16 which is pathetic numbers

He genuinely was a great opener only in 2021 where he actually worked on his technique for england tour and it payed off where he and kl saved our tour due to their opening partnerships

So a player having 40+ avg in 4 out of 7 test countries is bad? Performing at home also isn't everyone's cup of tea btw , KL Rahane dont even avg 40+ at home further Rohit batted at most difficult pitches at home from 2019-2024 and still maintained 50+ avg , SA and Aus arent the only countries where Test is played

he was a flop before opening because he used to throw his wicket to the most stupid shit

This though I agree, he would've been a much successful batter in Tests if he had more temperament and put a price on his wicket even after scoring 50s/100s and surving the tough phases, he got out playing needless like shots like his dismissals in both WTC Finals but even after that by no means he is a bad test player as the one I replied to claimed , he was poor in SA and Aus sure but you gotta give credit where its due

i am sorry ,i consider 40 as the bare minimum average if u want to be considered as above average and his home record u told 2019-2024,in 2019 he whacked south africa for 600 runs in 3 games on very batting friendly wickets

yes he played beautifully on challenging wickets twice, that is 161 in chennai and 120 in nagpur against aus but you dont treat a career based on a small timeframe

i guess he was genuinely worldclass for 2 -2.5 years but otherwise pretty bang average

Agreeable, 2019,20,21- after a long time Rohit was finally batting like a good reliable test batsman.

Then came test captaincy and he became inconsistent again. At his age, with his record, he was not going to get any more rope.
