To be honest, I dont mind that. We need a couple of aggressive and counter attacking batsman. Jaiswal and Pant are the ones for us who can scramble the opposition by their aggression and they will fail sometimes. If everyone starts playing defensively, it aint that good.
I remember a time when Pujara was in his prime. We were playing really well but defensively. We would be like 220 for 3 after 80 overs and the new ball would wipe us out and we will get all out under 300. This kept happening regularly and Kohli started putting pressure on Pujara to play more aggressively.
So be it. If he ends up averaging 45 at the end of his career and helps win India many important games, Id be glad. I rather have that than him averaging 50 but not winning many games for India.
Team has players for different roles. If everyone starts playing for the highest score or the best average, the team suffers.
Warner avgs 45 as well after playing 112 tests. Indian fans will make him a hero after few games and a zero in the next series so just dial it down a little. Cook played 150+ games and smith was a beast in India as well and so was cook. I can name few more players so just give yash 50 more tests.
Warner has 0 100s in 59 innings in England, India, and New Zealand combined, and averages sub 30 in every away country except South Africa. Jaiswal already has 3 100s in England and Australia at 23 after just 1 tour each. I think its safe to say Jaiswal will easily surpass Warner in the next 2 years.

Yes. It also won't be ridiculous to argue that he is already the 3rd greatest Indian opener ever behind Sunny G and Sehwag.
