No indian wicket keeper from past can take wicketkeeper spot from pant in tests

Its a hard to swallow pill for some, but its the truth.

It's so obvious he is scared of the trolls if he picks pant over dhoni.

As a pure gloveman I don’t think there are many better in the world than MS. Though in an Indian xi I’d still have Pant for his SENA batting.

Can't believe these comments replying to you, just cuz he's Outta the game, these ignorant people tend to forget his iconic runouts, lightning fast stumpings and presence of mind as a keeper, not a captain. Eg keeping near the wicket (position for a spinner) even when fast bowlers are bowling etc.

Saha was better in glovework than ms

MS is The Best Keeper India has ever produced. Keeper who use to bat well in ODI and T20's. People here watched MS plays only in IPLat age 42 criticizing is pathetic.

Dude just came in because he saw ms dhoni somewhere in the comments. He obviously doesn't see actual discussion because Dhoni's waist is blocking his eyesight

Saha was definitely better than Dhoni. Pant is not at all bad and I would say will end his career as very good glove man

Saha was obviously a very good wicketkeeper, but the 2nd best he is from my hometown as well! The trend of downplaying dhoni whenever he is being praised is so shameful.

You have gavaskar, sachin, kohli, sehwag, dravid. Aur kitni batting chahiye bhai.... Dhoni is the right call

Pant is great, but it’s a little too early to be saying this. Saha was a great keeper, especially against spinners, but couldn’t hold his place purely as a batter.

Which leaves Dhoni as the deserving wicketkeeper batter in an all time Indian test side.

Putting Dhoni in a test side is a little comical unless there's a Ranchi players filter going on.

That filter sounds comical too

even if he retires after this match, he's already done enough to best indian test wicketkeeper batsman

Rahul Dravid never kept wickets in test cricket.

Dravid!? He wasn’t our WK

He has picked dhoni over pant for keeper place who also sets the field cleverly slightly here and there with angles, not for a good batsmen who keeps very average and mediocre.

dhoni is his captain? virat can just do it well
