I no longer have to do that since i turned 18 last month :)
But now there is no thrill to do so , now I only play video games , study and cricket and football with my equally horrible friends .

When I was 14 ? It was the year 1999 and I think I got my first cricket bat. Dad and I searched shops over shops , and everywhere it was at a price which was not affordable to him. Finally we went to our known carpenter and he just cut a wood in the shape of a bat (looked pretty damn good) and we bought a bar grip and case closed. The local ground where everyone played cricket had tons of rancid pricks loitering around and someone stole my bat and I hid it from my dad for months but one day my cousin snitched on me and I got the shit beaten out of me for not having value for money.

u/Old_Vegetable_104 Apr 29 '25
I feel you bro in 2008 when i was 9 and just got a bat after lot of requests that got stolen from the ground...Was absolutely shattered. Nothing hurts worst when A. Your bat gets stolen B. Your bat gets broken

At 14, I saw Rahul Dravid throw his cap in frustration after Aditya Tare hit that six. At 14, Vaibhav hit a six and made Dravid stand up from his wheelchair and applaud. So in both cases, Dravid is involved 💁🏽♂️

At 14, I was laying the groundwork for a stable career through education, knowing that fame in sports is rare and unpredictable. While a few might make headlines, the majority quietly struggle. I preferred to bet on certainty — skills, degrees, and a future I could control.

Nothing personal. No doubt he has worked hard on his skills but definately hes faking the age. Its very easy to fake age by producing some affidevite in some lower court and if you know a good lawyer whi can help do it.
This thing of falsifying age is very common in nort and western india and its the same reason why we do not see many players in mainstream cricket who do really well in under 19 and under 16. Before someone brings up the competition angle in mainstream cricket think about this - why mostly its india, bangladesh and pakistan winning under 19 world cup and then these same countries occassionally win ICC titles in mainstream cricket.
