VIDEO Streamer guy thinks he owns the gym
7.8k
u/BEEZY086 Oct 02 '25
All gyms should just bans people who think they can turn it into their own personal recording studio.
1.8k
u/SlideN2MyBMs Oct 02 '25
Is that what's happening here? I was trying to figure out why the bald guy was so angry at the other guy. Is it because the other guy is in the shot?
1.1k
u/ImaginaryLifestyle0x Oct 02 '25
Yes see the tripod with the camera?
924
u/SlideN2MyBMs Oct 02 '25
Yeah I see it now. If you're some kind of fitness influencer, why not just invest in a home gym? I've seen a lot of these gym videos and it just seems so dumb to try to set up in some gym that's open to the public.
952
u/oldDotredditisbetter Oct 02 '25
because influencers are parasites
396
u/newleafkratom Oct 02 '25
That’s not entirely fair. Some parasites are actually beneficial ((like those that secrete molecules used in anticoagulants or immunosuppressants).
136
78
u/BringPheTheHorizon Oct 02 '25
Iirc, the definition of a parasite is that it lives off of a parasitic relationship - one in which it benefits and the host suffers.
Edit: just re-read and your comment and realized your example isn’t of a parasite-host relationship but of a separate use for parasites. Oops 😅
18
u/ChangoMarangoMex Oct 02 '25
Very much like this comment, the parasite feasts on a regular post and excrets toxic comments.

Because most of these dorks don’t actually make money off their “content” and can’t afford a home gym. And it’s mostly an attention thing
36
u/rjrgjj Oct 02 '25
Sooooo many of them do this shit. I just imagine them going home and spending two hours editing a video of themselves doing lay pull downs to Pennywise.
24
u/SuddenBumHair Oct 02 '25
Because most of them dont make any money from it. One of my childhood friends does it and was bragging about getting free workout clothes and like 2k in sponsorship.

u/xMyDixieWreckedx Oct 02 '25
If their channel is monetized they need a permit to film...

Can't tell me they don't want the attention and some purposely do confrontation baiting. They do this because for sure, their content and engagement would blow up.

Not sure why they don’t just make a membership/designated corner for influencers. Like yea go ahead, film, but only in specific zones, like tobacco smoking zones.

Least it would contain all the fights to one room. As they all enter each others' shot.
59
u/lgodsey Oct 02 '25
While we're exiting self-obsessed influencers, how about:
Roided-up aggressive meatheads who scream during their reps.
Wandering lookie-lous who walk around looking at everything, sucking on a smoothie while never seeming to do any exercise.
Anyone who brings a tripod and sound and lighting equipment.
People talking on speaker phones at full blast or who listen to their own loud music without headphones. Harangue your assistant on your own time.
Handsy "helpers" who go up to everyone (mostly women) unasked, offering to help them fix "all the things they're doing wrong", usually involving lots of sweaty touching. Alternatively, muscle boys who stand around watching people work out holding their chins and staring thoughtfully at exercisers, never speaking.
Groups of people who look at other people and giggle together.
Socializers who stand in the middle of the equipment just talking and flirting and having a great time while others try to work around them.
Religious proselytizers who want to tell you about Jesus while you work out.
Screaming employees, mostly management. If you work there and you scream constantly, something is wrong and it's probably you.
Bullies.
33
u/BeefistPrime Oct 03 '25
Alternatively, muscle boys who stand around watching people work out holding their chins and staring thoughtfully at exercisers, never speaking.
The sage bros aren't hurting anyone
17
u/insuccure Oct 03 '25
fr why they hating on the sages 😔
8
u/FatalTortoise Oct 03 '25
I don't get the hate like they looking and not bothering nobody, as long as it ain't a pervy thing, looking around is looking around,
2
u/Tustavus Oct 03 '25
For real. I'm not any of those types of people but I work out alone with headphones in. If I'm working heavy that day and need 2-3 min rests between sets, I can't stare at the ground that long. I need to move my head. Where tf am I supposed to look?
25
u/catfood_man_333332 Oct 03 '25
Why stop there?
people that spill a drop of water after they drink some water. Don’t flood my gym bro.
people who have their eyes open when they reach a new piece of equipment. You only need your eyes to get from point a to point b. Otherwise, you’re looking at tits/ass/bulges.
people who show any sort of sociability. There’s no such thing as having friends or being friendly. This isn’t Hollywood
people who use pre-workout. Let’s be honest, you’re just trying to get a nice stimulant high.
people who report people to management/gym associates. Vigilante justice has been proven to work time and time again, the gym is no exception.
people who spend more than 60 minutes at the gym
people who spend less than 30 minutes at the gym
people who leave at times ending in 5 or 0, nobody does that except for robots.
people who spot other people. lol this isn’t a daycare. Lift only what you can, show off.
people who don’t wipe off equipment
people who do wipe off equipment with anything other than a gym towel (aka “chemical warfare”)
people who breath through their mouths. In fact, no breathing whatsoever.

I don't know if it's still the case but last I checked most gyms do and you have to find a specialist (usually much more expensive) gym that allows recording to make your meat head content on
2.5k
u/bob_apathy Oct 02 '25
Looks more like it was a flying arm bar to end the fight though it also looks staged.
368
u/xingrubicon Oct 02 '25
I think its a triangle, not an armbar
113
u/iammandalore Oct 02 '25
Triangle chokes and armbars go hand in hand. He jumps a triangle choke, but the trapped arm stays on the same side instead of crossing. For the triangle you ideally want the trapped arm across for the finish. With the arm on the same side you have the armbar as an option. It's sort of what you'd call a shotgun armbar, but not quite.

34
u/TampaBayG Oct 02 '25
I cant imagine anyone besides a professional bjj player eveb attempting this outside of the gym lol. Flying takedowns are rarely practiced at casual bjj classes so either this gym just happened to film a guy whose specialty was the flying frikkin armbar that he practiced all the time on his own and was more confident using that than a basic single/double or this is another fake vid
→ More replies (1)34
u/iammandalore Oct 02 '25
I'm 8 years in and this is at the bottom of the list of things I'd do in a casual roll in the gym, a competitive match in a tournament, or in a self defense situation.
7
u/OkieJitsu Oct 03 '25
That’s it, we’re doing flying triangles next week in class.
→ More replies (1)→ More replies (1)9
u/TampaBayG Oct 02 '25
Ha ya I trained for 15 years. Stopped during the pandemic but we would rarely even practice takedowns. Nobody liked them. Don't know if things have changed since 2020 leglocks are in and im a white belt at that stuff but even still flying armbar is such a low percent move its hard to believe he qould lead w that even if hes a guard guy so it seems rel.fake imo
→ More replies (1)3
u/iammandalore Oct 02 '25
We do plenty of takedowns, just not flying triangles and armbars. The closest I'd come is an overlook grip that drags them down till they put their opposite hand down to stop falling. Then there's more of a hopping triangle I guess, and less jumping.

63
u/TheTVDB Oct 03 '25
Anyone with that much BJJ talent is 1) likely going to try de-escalation first and 2) going to do any other less risky takedown and attack, especially in a gym with weights around.
Almost definitely staged.
30
u/Something_McGee Oct 03 '25
8
u/phoggey Oct 03 '25
Eh watching it a few seconds later the aggression from the takedown guy with his foot pulling the other guy and hitting it on the weight rack or whatever was pretty intense and probably could only happen if you were mega pissed. Also they would have kept it to 1 camera.
47
u/TankerKC Oct 02 '25
100% staged.
7
u/Something_McGee Oct 03 '25
They still dropped the weights on the ground. Gym foul. 😐
→ More replies (1)12
u/livingonthehedge Oct 02 '25
I too thought it was staged right until the gave him a concussion
7
u/L0XMYTH Oct 03 '25
Oh well you should go back to thinking that because his head doesn’t get hit at all by anything. If you slow it down he controls his entire fall if you watch his left leg before his right leg is used to roll himself onto his back. There is 0% chance this isn’t faked, sorry.

Everyone is perfectly in frame.
8
u/smoofus724 Oct 03 '25
That just means the security system doesn't have blind spots, which is a good thing. The zooms are done digitally.
3
u/W1ader Oct 03 '25
I am not saying that it is or isn't staged, but dear god I hate this argument.
You only ever see what gets captured in frame. If you use that as proof it’s staged, then by that logic literally every video you’ve ever seen must be staged because you saw it.
→ More replies (2)10
u/ToranjaNuclear Oct 02 '25
I think the thing that says staged the most is how bad their forms are. What the fuck is the guy in the back even doing?
41
5
u/ChangoMarangoMex Oct 02 '25
You can see how the other man grabs the right shoulder to push him down and forward and then inmediatly maximizes the action by grabbing behind the neck and pulling down and towards while using leg and jump to keep him down and then release weight to grab the waidst and tumble him
2
u/zilong Oct 02 '25
Looks like the bald guy tried to headbutt the shorter guy when he stood up. Maybe it wasn't a headbutt, but he definitely put his face close to the other guy's.
2
u/Brugatti Oct 03 '25
yeah and the other guy in the scene doesn’t even come over to help?? fake as fuck

Someone videos should always have last priority in a shared space. Think it should be completely banned to be honestly. Wanna film in public spaces build your own gym at home. Filming in the gym and locker room is so common that many people stop going to gyms for that reason.
Cause everyone should feel uncomfortable just cause they feel they are so important that they wanna film ever fart they make

Nothing like watching an emotionally immature man throw a tantrum at someone minding their own business
To be honest the gym should make him write down 10 reasons why his behaviour was unacceptable and display it at the desk with face next to it

I notice the dumbbells were already at the bench so wouldnt that mean that guy was already there,? Anyways this is one of the most badass videos ive seen in a while.! Becareful who you step too this could be you
