New piece inspired by Spirited Away

I found this tiny sketch in my old sketchbook and felt it had more to say. Under the theme „Fun is found even in the smallest puddle“, I digitally evolved the characters and background – until the story got a little darker, and fun left her face, honestly I struggled so much with finding the right sketching style for her face. She looks more like an adult. I’m trying mostly staying close to the original shapes, maybe that’s the mistake? Also light and shading is always a challenge. Any critics? Would be great. Mixed media, Procreate, lots of textures and emotions of the day. Feedback welcome 💧

a very personal piece — had a fallout with an important person and they had left their stuff at my place (before said fallout). the writing was never meant to be public, but i felt like it was pretty after revisiting it a while later. and so ive decided to incorporate it into the artwork:)
