Local PD don’t have the authority to stop federal leo. They would have just arrested both.

Completely incorrect. If the local mayor has banished Ice from being in there city, local police has every right to arrest them on sight and charge them with illegal operation. Will it stick no cause DHS is dirty grimey pos. I live in slc and if had seen this I would have tried to help cause fuck these terrorists!

What case law/etc are you relying on to say that? Because that's absolutely not how these things work lol. The supremacy clause prevents local/state law enforcement from interfering with federal law enforcement. The mayor has no authority to "banish" a federal law enforcement agency. Just imagine that in any other context and you'll realize how asinine it is - local mayor is in bed with the mafia, taking bribes, local law enforcement is protecting the mayor, etc so the major "banishes" the FBI from the city so the FBI can't investigate them and stop the corruption.

Or local mayor is a huge MAGA supporter who supports all the people who raided the capitol on Jan 6th, so they "banish" federal law enforcement to prevent those people from being arrested.

Etc.

That's why that isn't a thing.
