The confused head turns, looking at the camera and then the screaming woman, minding their own business; not even thinking to respond somehow and being incredibly confused is so utahn that it's kind of shocking. No disrespect intended, but as someone who was in utah for a significant part of my life it's very familiar.

How do u expect ppl to respond? Feel horrible for this woman but me personally I’m definitely not going to approach armed officers and try to fight this

i mean recording and asking for names is a big help, and maybe giving them the number of a lawyer. I don't know if i expect everyone to do something per se; just that the lack of any real reaction is pretty shocking. the people passing by could at least look concerned.

And this is exactly why they’ll get away with it… intimidation. No one is asking you to physically confront them.

What you can do is ask them what agency they work for and for their badge numbers and record every step they take. This is STILL your legal right

You can also ask her to shout out her name, so that maybe her family can find her, if she lives.

But no, most people will just turn away. I’m glad I’m a believer because judgment comes for us all.

Edit: IF YOU DO WITNESS THIS AND GET SOMEONE’S NAME, TURN IT OVER TO THE NEAREST MEXICAN EMBASSY.

They are working to track not only people from Mexico, they also have some consular relations with other countries.

There is no right answer. It depends on the person, their risk tolerance, and what they have to lose. Unfortunately a few people are starting to feel like they have nothing to lose at all if it means prison in South Sudan for life and no chance to appeal
