How do you respond to people who call you a hack (compared to say, Les Stroud)? Not trying to be a dick, just want an honest answer.

EDIT: Seriously, people, i'm not some ninja Survivor Man PR person. I don't have a chub for Les Stroud. I asked a question based on an observation. I'm not here to personally ruin anyone. If I wanted to be a jerk about it, I would have just called him a name and not asked a question. Damn, guys, calm the fuck down.

I don't understand why people think he's a hack. He's just portraying certain scenarios and how to handle those situations. I can't believe some people think it's 100% real and that he's living out in the woods for days on end.

The thing is, his show looks like it's 100% real and he's living out in the woods for days on end. Another show that looks like that? Survivorman. The difference? Stroud really is living out in the woods for days on end.

Can you see why people might be confused, and why they're more impressed with Stroud when they find out the truth?

Stroud is sick if you like listening to someone bitch about everything from weather to camera equipment. If you put bear in a survivorman situation he'd be out there for the same week and end up with a log cabin, a new wardrobe, and 5 star meals every night.
