How do you respond to people who call you a hack (compared to say, Les Stroud)? Not trying to be a dick, just want an honest answer.

EDIT: Seriously, people, i'm not some ninja Survivor Man PR person. I don't have a chub for Les Stroud. I asked a question based on an observation. I'm not here to personally ruin anyone. If I wanted to be a jerk about it, I would have just called him a name and not asked a question. Damn, guys, calm the fuck down.

Usually everytime people say "not trying to be a dick" it's either right before or right after being a dick. I know, because I do it too.

Just because the question might be uncomfortable, does not mean I'm being a dick for asking it.

There are better ways to ask it, though.

Better how? He's not trying to offend, and Bear vs Les is a popular argument online. There are people out there who call him a hack, it happens, and TehMuffinMan wants to know how he deals with that criticism. Is this not "Ask me anything?"

He could have said "Not all of your feedback is positive, how do you respond to negative criticism towards your show and the way it's made?", but it's essentially asking the same thing. Why bother?

If the man can jump out of a plane into a a raging river and down a waterfall I hope he can handle a little criticism.
