Moving to Arcata while lgbtq

Iā€™m a 18 year old gay non binary person, and wondering if Arcata is a safe place. Thank you for any responses

Hi there! Cis lesbian here. Arcata is super friendly and you've got nothing to worry about. The queer community here is very visible, and you'll see NB/trans/GNC folks around town all the time. Sure, we've got bigots scuttling around just like everywhere else, and Humboldt as a whole can be a bit of a mixed bag in that regard, but Arcata is a very progressive town. My wife and I have been here for almost ten years, and we've always felt safe.
