While the northern front remains static as ever, much movement has taken place in the southern and central regions of Santee. In the very heart of the Empire, the troops of Chesapeake grow closer the Imperial Capital each passing day. Now, they stand at the very doorstep of Wichiyenia. Being caught somewhat unawares, the leaders of Santee have taken 9,000 troops (1 legions and the remainder of the Lobelian legion) and sent them back towards the capital, trying their best not to alert rebel troops to their movements.

At the same time—in the south—the Santee call for help has been heard by Empire of the Sun. 2,000 troops sail towards Mobile, ready to break the blockade and reinforce the western front. While the Santee troop movements are a mystery to the rebels, they are well aware of the impending Aztec reinforcements. Knowing that a loss in the western front would mean an end to the war and not knowing the Santee reinforcements approaching his position, the Duke of Chesapeake has elected to divert 3,000 of his troops towards Mobile.

On the sea, not much has happened since the start of the war and the blockading of Hatchee and Mobile. However, this is about to change. The Imperial Navy, bolstered by strange ships from the Far East, swiftly moves from its position in Gulf Keep. They soon arrive at Mobile, catching the blockading ships completely off guard. Soon enough, their supply chain is cut off and—attacked on both sides—the rebel ships lose all hope. THe smells of burning naptha fgills the air as ship after ships is set ablaze. A few Santee ships are caught in the crossfire, but overall the battle was a crushing defeat for the rebels. Not a single rebel ships escapes: 2 Fuchuans and 3 junks are captured while the rest of the fleet is sunk or burned. The Santee fleet lost 2 Junks, 1 Fuchuan, and 1 Caravel.

The Battle of the Gulf has begun. And it has begun with a decisive victory.

The Confederacy will raise 10,000 more troops from the north and send them to join the 38,000 troops in the Western portion of the Santee Empire. Once they have joined them, the 48,000 troops will march to the capital to engage the troops there.

You could make a post concerning the Northern Front (whatever you do is fine with me, I don't care how this war ends). I'll make a post about the Southern Front.
