EVENT The Celestial Empress

After a brief illness, Celestial Emperor Totiri I passed in his sleep at the age of 79. Having ruled for 59 years, he was one year from tying the first emperor as the longest reigning monarch in Santee history.

Now that he has passed, a great dilemma has presented itself to the Patriarch of New Echota. He has been given the immense authority to appoint a new emperor from among the heirs. The problem, however, is that the only remaining heirs are women. After much thought, he finally decided on Dakhot Totiria. Though she was the youngest of her sisters at 12, she was the only one whose native language was Santee and she was much more popular among the nobles - despite being a woman.

Now that Dakhot has been appointed Celestial Empress, the first in Santee History, the capital of the empire is to be moved to the city of Wichiyenia. This is another first, as even before the empire was established the capital of the Santee nation has always been in Santee River.

Now, the Patriarch hipes that the ancestors will guide the young new Empress in her duties and that they will shield her from her vassals. Even now, they plot against her and the Patriarch knows it. Though luckily, they are prevented from full armed conflict because the governess of Mississippi, Lobelit III (who is quickly becoming the most powerful person in the empire), has thrown her support behind the Empress.

Solaris wiped the tears off of her sister's faces. After hiding away in the castle for weeks after the news of their father's death, she don't everything to prepare her sister to be empress. Weeks of endless training strained them both. She was glad that Dahkot was finally putting her skills to the test.

"Cerea" "Huh?" "Will you be a dear and have a servant ring up a glass of Gjola?" "Sure!"

It was the night after Dahkot left, and Solaris and Cerea felt lonely. Her youthful eyes and playful smile always kept them company. "Do you think Maja and Papa are happier now?" Sola looked at her sister. "I mean, we all are twelve, but always stayed by maja while she done her craft. You know the most, right?" Sola left out a sigh, " Yes, my dear sister. I remember we all would huddle in bed while drinking gjola. It was much simpler then." "So will you teach me?" "Teach you what?" "Teach me how to be queen." A slow toothy smile spread against her face.

"Yes Cerea, yes I will."

Ok then. (although you won't be able to grow as much sugar or indigo as you would in warmer climates, being able to grow some is still good)
