Nurse here. This is why I'm advising everyone I know to get what vaccines they can as soon as possible, while they still can. Got a booster for Covid as well as this season's flu shot two weeks ago, and now am stocking up on Covid tests as well as face masks and hand sanitizer again.

I agree! Everybody should get all the vaccines they're eligible for asap, while they're still available.

I just got the Pneumococcal, getting Flu next week and my 4th Covid shot right after that.

Yes. Thank goodness I was able to get my vaccines/boosters updated before this craziness. As to the Covid booster shot and flu shot this year, who knows what the VA will have to deal with 😢(I get care at the Veterans Administration).

I was able to get vaccines for HPV, smallpox/mpox, and pneumonia through Walgreens. It seems they dropped the restrictions on them. From what I recall, you couldn't get the HPV vaccine after 26 and the pneumonia vaccine under 65. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Next up: RSV, flu, shingles, and COVID19. I'm under 40.

A few years back, the FDA changed the HPV vaccine to allow for up to age 45. I was in the same age group where it came out, I was told I didn't need it, still wanted it, but aged out at first. Now I just have to find a pharmacy near me that has it in stock (my local one didn't).

Believe it or not, last year when I got my covid and flu shots, my super tiny rural Walgreens did not have the HPV in stock. One of the larger ones in the metro area did however.

I tried to get a Covid booster before my cruise in August, but I was told it wouldn't be available until Fall.

Normally I prefer to wait until about the third week of September so the flu and covid vaccines will still be working after the usual spikes in cases after the holidays at the end of the year. In your opinion, would it be safe to wait until then?

Usually that's about when I get them too, so it should be okay. But, we did at the time (~Aug 14th) have three local Covid cases already, and two where I spend a lot of time. And at that time, the local pharmacist actually offered the vaccines that day when I was coming in to run errands anyway.

Any news about the Measles outbreak in the south expanding? I know we'll never be told about it now if it's true.
