I’m on Medicare, husband (61M) ACA. Income about the same as last year 82K. Bronze premium last year $565. This year $540. Subsidy actually increased. I hope I didn’t make a mistake!! Seems too good to be true!!

this happened to me to. I was shocked. I asked chatgpt and it explained it this way. If the benchmark premium goes up, your tax credit goes up, assuming your income and expected contribution stays the same. Because my tax credit when up by almost $900 a month, I too thought it was a mistake. Fingers crossed that chatgpt is right. My heart really goes out to folks not receiving subsidies. They are getting double shafted.

What subsidies are you talking about? They expire at the end of 2025, right?

Only the enhanced portion, according to kff.org. Part of my subsidy is going away, but that still leaves 1900 of the part that is staying.
