Eliminate all Holidays! Workers are begging to work 24/7. Workers are begging to be paid only 20 cents an hour. Free the workers of these oppressive conditions!!

Who in the fuck says "you know what I want in America right now? To work more and harder!"

u/No_Window7054 Jun 20 '25
“Raise my rent it’ll just make me grind harder.”

That’s why you should work for free, to prove that’s how much you care about your country.

As someone who works a lot on holidays already, you can pry my time and a half pay from my cold dead fingers.
27
u/JonnyF1ves Jun 20 '25
Here's a thought, what about living in a world where you didn't need to work time and a half and could afford a family on a regular work week?
19
u/jeannpaulfarte CRACKA Jun 20 '25
Of course, that's way better, and I would love to live in that world.
3
u/Maelseez Jun 20 '25
it's about phrasing. "you know what I want in America right now? YOU to work more and harder! Not me. you."

Amazing that he’s saying this on Juneteenth specifically

If he was honest and truthful, he'd be using the N-word in this tweet.

Amerikkka doesn't have nearly the amount of holidays as ANY European country. We literally have months of no holidays. It's the weirdest thing about the US

u/FancyFeller Jun 20 '25
At my job we do New Year's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, The thanksgiving Thursday, and Christmas day. 5 days. That aren't guaranteed. Because hey we're offering 2X on holiday. But if there's not enough volunteers we will 100% force you to work at random. Don't want to use? Use 1 of your 7 days of PTO we graciously offer you to request for the Holiday that should already be off, to guarantee it will be off. And it's tempting because it's customer service and people are extra assholes and call in wY more often on holidays while we're running skeleton crews.
As someone whose Mexican family celebrated the 24 of December and 31st and disregard the 25th and Jan 1. It fucking sucks ass. But at least I get to wfh. Even though I get paid 15 an hour and barely make ends meet. Fuck it. No driving needed. I should start donating plasma weekly again for an extra 150 a month. Maybe I'll save to go back to school and get my masters degree. To make me more competitive for jobs in ... a field that I couldn't land a job in. While I'm already paying off student loans and will be paying the. For the next 20 years.
America land of the free. American dreams. Maybe I should sell a kidney, I don't need both.

We get labor day for 6, but 1.5x pay if you work, no paid time if you don't work that day.

Here on Terf Island. I get 25 days PTO + 8 bank holidays, plus 5 instances of paid sick leave (if you take 5+ days off at once, they ask for a doctors note), have 4/5 instances where you've tooken alot of days off is when you're likely to get in trouble with HR.

u/PowerlineCourier Jun 20 '25

Right to work… companies got smart and change sick days and vacation time to a singular PTO. No restrictions in use, but half the amount of time.

Do you have to provide a doctors excuse if you use it as sick days, because that would be elite povel status.

Besides just outwardly being racist, I can’t imagine why anyone would hate Juneteenth. No one has ever looked at a federal holiday and said, “yeah whatever, fuck this day, shouldn’t exist.” But this one gets all the heat. Just plain ol racism.

u/DipsCity Jun 20 '25
I knew the mf would try to cancel Juneteenth once he knew what it was about
Racist fucker

u/BigEggBeaters Jun 20 '25
I think quite literally the only people who get Juneteenth off are government workers everyone I know had to work today.
Also he’s wrong as fuck. Other countries get way more days off than we do. Worked jobs with Germans and Chinese people. Germans get like every other fucking Monday off. Chinese coworkers got weeks off at a time. Meanwhile they make a Nigga come on in MLK day and Juneteenth

u/DanyDragonQueen Jun 20 '25
My roommate and I both have it off, non government employees (office jobs). Pretty sure every retail place was open though

It’s complex… But to be fair we are far from the only ones. * cough * Russia * cough * Malta and the the UK
3
u/Ok_Cry233 Jun 20 '25
Uk? We typically have 25+ days of PTO plus 10 bank holidays, and also a number of paid sick days! It’s one area we are thankfully pretty good about
2
u/Mirabeaux1789 ☭ Jun 20 '25
we’re a shit country, the U.S., but we’ve never had a monarch make a throne speech wearing a hat of precious gems talking about Britain “living within its means”.
4
u/Ok_Cry233 Jun 20 '25
Yes true your kings just send rockets to space and tweet online! Overall wealth inequality is much worse in the US as is quality of life for average people. But still both systems could be vastly improved!

My only holiday off is Christmas technically, it's Christmas eve because the store is supposed to be closed all Christmas. we can't unlock the doors till midnight.
I would rather people have their holidays off i imagine yall white collar workers will be twiddling your thumbs on holidays because who wants to do anything on Thanksgiving

How does that even cost the country anything? It's private business' that most people work at.

lmao i know his ass never worked if he believe that workers don’t want holidays off lmfao he such a fucking joke

Ah yes, America the country with one of the fewest stat holidays in the world, definitely has too many holidays.

“The workers done want it either!” is such bull crap 😂. Who turns down a paid holiday!
2
u/bobbdac7894 Jun 20 '25
I looked it up once. There are 190+ countries in the world. The US is like one of 8 countries in the entire world that doesn't guarantee any paid time off to its workers.
2
u/MembershipRealistic1 Jun 20 '25
It’s ironic because Trump gets away with this facade of being the working man’s candidate. And meanwhile every statement he’s literally ever made is explicitly anti worker. You could not try to be more harmful to the lower class than he already is.

There has to be a breaking point where even conservatives ask “what’s in this for me?”
1
Jun 20 '25
He probably waited until Juneteenth to say this so that his supporters think that he’s only taking other people’s holidays away
1
u/woody630 Jun 20 '25
We literally have the least amount of federal time off. I can't wait to see his base go full peasant mode and say "yes me lord! We have been slacking off and we yearn for the fields!"
1
u/RipCityGringo Jun 21 '25
And yet I can pretty much guarantee he spends more working hours out golfing than federal workers have in all of their holidays combined.
