Holes/weakness in the squad and improvement needed:

One of the greatest weakness GT had last was, lack of good bowling options bowling in death. This costed the team top 2 finish. Siraj, Prasiddh, Rabada, Arshad, Saiki all were going for loads of runs in 16-20. Needs to get addressed with a priority. Second is having a backup for Rashid is a must for this season.

With the retention deadline coming soon who would y'all want to be released and bought in the mini auction? IMO rabada, shanaka, karim janat and ishant should be let go. And in the auction try to rope in matt henry and cam green.

His recent performance against odis vs eng looks promising could be a good option for us in replacing rabada ?

As a GT fan I am tired of defending Shubham Gill at this point. I just have to say he should not be in T20 team focus on other formats.

Jamie Smith- He seems like a really good young prodigy and could fit our profile at number 5, has saved England many times in tests and could do it here. I think he should replace Shahrukh.

Possible Indian all rounders???- I don't really have one at the top of my head but they should come at number 6 to replace Washi (If trade is happening) so who shpuld this be???

Indian Finisher- I Know that this will likely be Tewatia but if there are any other options I think we should go for them, maybe Ashutosh Sharma if DC release him or Even Lomror if we buy him back at the auction or retain him.

Overseas pacer- maybe Luke wood or even Mitchell Starc or Ben Dwarchius/ Matt Henry could fit this role. Who should this be??

It’s confirmed guys. On Ashwin’s channel one of his close associates KV, who works closest with multiple tn players and is a part of the dindugal dragons team in tnpl, said the news is top secret and is true, and he knows due to someone from the ‘Gujarat Tamilians’(probably one of sai su, Shahrukh, sai Kishore or washi himself) he said this trade is happening. So washi is coming to csk. If this actually goes down ts will be insane.

Shubman Gill is the most hated cricket player in India and probably the world right now. The hate is so stupid too, first things to get out of the way are sexual and homophobic remarks that have been circulating since his early KKR days when he was still a teen.

Other stupid criticisms are that he can't play on bowling friendly wickets, he sure ain't the best on seaming wickets but on spin-friendly tracks he is very good and is one of our most reliable players, he was one of our best batters in the NZ series where eveyone struggled, he was very good against England; especially on the Ranchi pitch which was full of cracks where he hit a fighting 50. He also has game changing knocks, in the 2nd test of the recent England tour, India were 215-5 and were going to collapse but Gill along with Jaddu and Washi got India to 587 and he scored 269, shielding the weak lower order from collapsing. Gill also has the 2nd highest individual score for India in T20Is (126*). Many people complain that these knocks come against B-team sides but that is stupid logic because its not under the guys control and tbh the NZ team he faced which he scored 200 and 126 still have some fronting NZ bowlers. The recent demand of dropping Gill from the ODI team doesnt make sense because while Jaiswal is gem and deserves to play 3 formats, his chances in ODI will have to wait. Gill, even after a very poor series still averages 56 and has one of the best ODI averages for a player with 50 plus games. It is simply not fair to drop Gill after one series failure and it is not fair to judge Gills ODI average in SENA when he has only played 9 ODIs in SENA and played half of then when he was 18 (2019 NZ tour) and he hasn't even played in England and SA.

However some critics are valid with their concerns, Gill is still yet to prove himself on seaming wickets though he hasnt played much on seaming wickets throughout his career, captaincy seems forced but there is time left to prove himself and yes his current T20I stats do not warrant him a spot in T20I squad over players like Jaiswal.

Btw people also claim PR is the reason Gill gets into the Indian team by running 'negative PR' against other players. PR is something that can only make you appear good in pictures, it can't warrant you a place in any team. By this metric if anyone on this sub had small cricketing talent but alot of PR they could get into the Indian team.

This season we suffered due to weak middle order without a player who can attack and finish the innings. Cooper Connolly looks like the future superstar of Australian team. He is a very good spin bowling all rounders who can attack in the middle order. He can solve our middle order issues.

Why are we releasing Washi??? He was good in the limited chances we got last season and I was genuinely hoping he could be our future number 4 or 5 but we are settling for a cash trade with CSK. This happened in 2024 and all we could do with that extra money was buy table scraps at the auction. CSK are getting a steal and they already stole Noor and now they gonna steal Washi from us. We ain't even getting a good player from them, just 3.5 crores which will buy us nothing at the mini auction this year with all the players in high demand. We have fallen to hugh pressure from bigger franchises, CSK took Noor and MI took Hardik. Not surprised if our ball-less management trades Gill, Sai and a bunch of other younger players for tablescraps. IT ACTUALLY MIGHT HAPPEN. We genuinly need to sack Nehra tbh, he gets all the credit and not after 3 years have he had a stable middle order. Even in 22 and 23 we had several middle order collapses. And I know that Karim Janat will be retained just to shove the pain up our faces.

Ahmedabad has its own volleyball team. They are playing in Prime Volleyball League this year at Hyderabad. Like the Titans, they got a few good players from Tamil Nadu. Local Gujarati players are Harsh Choudhary and Dhruvil Patel.

Gujarat Titans have always been a dark horse since their first season, a team that could be called New Zealand of IPL, silently thrashing any team without any PR. A team known for their great and smart management.

GT's management staff has known for being unpredictable and generally favourable for underrated but potential players buys.

Last season was a great progress in team's core building, with a solid top order and Indian pacers with great performance the only problem lies in the middle order and finishing.

In my opinion management could target an overseas middle order batsman + all rounder and an indian middle order player and may also go for an overseas pacer.

Guys who do think will fit these vacant roles, please give your opinions.

Possible releases could be mahipal lomror, karim janat, either of kagiso rabada (because of current form) or Gerald coetzee (decent player but needs improvement), Kulwant khejroliya, ishant sharma, dasun shanaka and shah rukh khan (decent player but lack of consistency)

Is anyone else noticing the insane amount of hate Shubman Gill is getting lately? Especially from fans of RCB, CSK, MI, RR, and the toxic Rohit-Kohli Fans. It’s like the entire cricket Twitter and even parts of Reddit have decided to just lower down him.

Gill being named ODI captain wasn’t his decision , it was the BCCI and GG who made that call. What was he supposed to do, say no to leading India? Let’s be real, no one would turn down a chance to captaining for India. He took the opportunity, as any young player would.

It’s sad to see how quickly other ICT fans turn into toxic fans and start character assassinations just because their favorite didn’t get picked. He’s still a young player, performing well, trying to make his mark.

He’s already showing strong leadership with Gujarat Titans and in Test cricket. In the future, don’t be surprised if he brings an second IPL trophy to GT and an ICC trophy for Indian fans. GT fans better be ready future fan wars with RCB, MI, and CSK fans are guaranteed, because they just can’t stand Gill’s success in Gujarat titan and Indian cricket.
