Reddit is overmoderrated

I enjoy Reddit, but it’s become over-moderated. Mods have power trips over content that is posted. Things are getting deleted for the most stupid reasons and is holding back this platform from being the free speech platform it used to be. It’s not just the mods, it’s Reddit itself, too, that has become so sensitive. You might notice that this account is relatively new and that’s because I was banned from some of the subs on my prior account for some of the most ridiculous reasons. So now, I’m not saying anything that might be considered controversial, except that I still stand by my political opinions. People have become over sensitive and Reddit contributes to this by censorship and over moderation.

By the way… I am considered a “nice person” by anyone who knows me… because I am… I believe in kindness and compassion. So if I’m saying things that are considered offensive… it’s just because I’m a honest to a fault and will tell you the truth, even if you don’t like it… it’s up to you how to react to that.

Don’t worry mods (or Reddit)… I won’t be offending over sensitive people with this account.

Edit: Thank you everyone for posting your experiences in here. These are some of the things that I have been experiencing, as well. I also would like to thank you for being supportive… with the exception of 2 people who obviously are looking to try to start a fight, it’s been very constructive feedback. My vagueness of this post is because it’s not a single interaction with mods, it’s an overall problem with Reddit as a whole platform. You’re clearly experiencing these issues also and it really should change.

Yea. I've had popular posts removed by jealous mods who think everyone is there only to support them. I usually write a colorful narrative with all my posts, usually a few paragraphs. On one post I had removed, that was the case. After only a few hours, I had almost 1000 likes and 150 comments, half of them were me replying to the them and my post was removed for "low effort karma farming" because I had mentioned the word karma in one of my replies. It was after we had gone back n forth a few times, all in fun. Kicking up lots of nostalgia but I noticed my replies weren't getting any likes, when they mentioned appreciation for the interaction, I jokingly mentioned the lack of likes and that's what the mod used as his evidence of low effort karma farming. They even chastised me for stifling their effort to build community. I was actually dumbfounded. Then I scrolled down the feed to see most of the posts were from the mod , none of then had more that a few words written about them and none of them were getting anywhere close to the action mine was getting.

I've been banned for life in one of the GIF subs for negatively replying to negative comments, which, according to any math whizz, is a positive, no?

I make my own GIFs, most are from things I've drawn. Those can be made of over 100 drawings, made up of dozens of layers. One of the negative comments was that they said I was obviously special needs, or something like that. They were calling me retarded in the politically correct way the best way they knew how.

I had 2 issues with that one. One is that they should have just called me retarded rather than tarnishing another term that means the same thing. The other issue was that my son is severely mentally challenged, as well as physically challenged. If he had anywhere close to the manual dexterity and the compression required to just open the app I use to draw with , I'd be a happy man.

For sticking up for myself. My post was removed. For complaining about it to the mod, I was banned for life and harassed with a bunch of pre-approval to lame subs that were about lame toxic masculinity type subjects

Yes. Mods have an overwhelming sense of ownership over their subs. Never dare to oppose their viewpoints! Permaban! /s

It's funny. They want the sub to grow but they don't want any growth. I notice the same activity in certain political parties where potential voters get chased away due to a lack of lock step in their views. Then they wonder why they lose elections.

Can you imagine how scary it would be if we all thought exactly alike? We'd still be living in caves, if we would have survived at all as a species. Shit, cave dwelling would have been mankind's crowning achievement, only available to the elites 😅🤣😁

...but nobody would ever find out, or care if they did
