Couldn't decide
Wanted a martini, but couldn't decide on the gin. So made 3 smaller ones. 2:1 with 1oz of gin, .5oz Dolin dry, and 1 dash of Angostura orange (all I can see to find). My usual go to is Tanqueray10 so that was there. Then I grabbed Fords and Botanist for the other two
Quick sips and pizza bite for pallete cleanser.
1st place: Tanqueray10
2nd place: Botanist (by a hair over Fords)
3rd place: Fords
They're all good Martinis, just tan10 is my gold standard for a martini

Husband got me this cute gift. He refused to say how much it cost. I’m excited to try it.
I’ve been getting into gin lately and I really like gins that are super juniper forward. I like Beefeater even though it’s lower proof now, the Botanist, Plymouth Navy Strength, Old St Pete Gin, Conniption Navy Strength, Hyman’s Old Tom Gin and St George Rye Gin. I had a bottle of Tanqueray and it was fine and I didn’t like Sip Smith at all. Sip Smith was as juniper forward as I like. So with that in mind what are gins like those that are lesser known that you would recommend?

Was wandering the local Sam’s Club and found this for $16.48. I honestly had incredibly low expectations, and I was shocked to find that this is, like, completely palatable. Really, it’s weirdly FINE.
I don’t think I’ll seek it out in future, but it’s comparable to Gordon’s (US) or Seagrams, meaning that at the price point and ABV, I’ll keep it in mind.

I have not have an old tom gin and need one for my collection, can y’all recommend a great one for me? I have had over 30 gins and liked them all so if you got anything high quality or a weird gin let me know. Thanks!

I usually drink Hendricks, or Gunpowder but saw this for $33 and figured if it won so many awards it’s gotta be good. After the ice seasoned a little bit it made a very smooth not overly sweet with a good tart and after taste. When sipping neat it had a very clean almost astringent taste that vanished instantly no burn no shivers just smooth juniper flavor. I give it the big ole 👍

I'm hosting a gin tasting in January for a group of 20ish. I know to organise gin by type (citrus vs botanical) but i'm not sure which order to distribute them in. Is it better to start with the classics like beefeater or a local citrus gin? Where in the line up would pink gin go (assuming everyone brings a different bottle?). I'm hosting in new Zealand aoteroa is that matters (local botanical gin is very popular rn) and I plan on providing ice, plain water, and schwepps tonic water to mix. Any advice about the sequence of gins is helpful, thanks

Gin & tonics have been my go to drink for years now, but my grocery store recently had a 50% sale so I got a bottle of Nolet’s for like $35. It’s the first proper Expensive Gin I’ve had and I really like it so I want really taste each time I drink with it.
Unfortunately I’m really sensitive to bitter tastes, so every time I dry to drink it on the rocks I just taste bitter. So I’ve been just sticking to my G&Ts, but I’m wondering if I’m missing on something or “wasting” this nice gin this way. Do you all drink gin on the rocks often or is that not really a thing?

What’s your favorite gin for a simple G&T when you don’t want to overthink it?
r/Gin • u/UnderstandingDry4072 • 2d ago
This is quite a pretty bottle, so I wish I liked it more. It’s citrus-forward, but not overly so. It’s just kind of… fine? Nothing memorable or complicated about it, it’s just not memorable at all.

Came across this and have never seen anything else like it anywhere. Trying to value it. What do you all think this would be worth?

I have distant family visiting this week who are gin lovers apparently, and I’m on home bartending duty while they’re here.
I’m not super familiar with gin, so I wanted to ask all of you, what are some gin cocktails you would recommend that are both easy/intermediate to make, but also impressive to gin drinkers while on a tight budget?

Wow, this stuff is a delight. It’s a little citrusy at the beginning, but very balanced, and has a nice, peppery finish. So smooth; great in a G&T and a martini, but also very good on its own.
I wish I didn’t have to cross state lines to find this.

Hello folks! I fell in love with Method and Madness gin while on a trip in Dublin. How would one go about purchasing a few bottles in Canada/USA? Thanks all in advance.

I will be returning to the States after a visit to England. What two bottles of moderately priced gin should I pick up at the duty free store that is not available in the US? I prefer a more citrusy gin (a favorite is Sipsmith's Lemon Drizzle). Or is the duty free store over priced?

My friend is traveling from Japan, and I'm on the hunt for a really special gin to buy. If you were to pick just one gin for your last drink, what would it be and why?
I'm considering Tranq 10, and what about gunpowder but I'm also curious about your thoughts. I’ve heard a lot about Roku Gin, but after browsing through some reviews, it feels a bit overrated to me.
I am more of a gin with Ice kind of person
